A man in New York state has been sentenced to two years in jail after accidentally texting his probation officer a message seeking marijuana.
Prosecutors said Alvin Cross Jr. of Albany sent a text message to his probation officer which read, "You have some weed?"
Authorities immediately swong into action raiding Cross' home and seizing a bag of cocaine.
Cross pleaded guilty to cocaine possession Monday and was sentenced to one year in prison. An extra year was added to the sentence for violating his probation.
The reason for Cross' probation was unclear.
