MS TCDC is a training organization aiming at building capacity for a Civil Society actively initiating, leading, sustaining and succeeding in popular struggles for a more just, democratic and sustainable world. MS TCDC now offer a number of internship positions for the right candidates to grow their capacity while gaining valuable on the job experience. We are looking for vibrant, motivated candidates to take internship positions in our Public Relations and Sales Team.
i) Public Relations and Sales Intern (1 Post)
The Public Relations and Sales Intern reports directly to the Head of Course Administration. The purpose of this internship position is to support the team in carrying out day to day Sales, Marketing and Public relation activities on direct and indirect approach. Effective communication to the target audience and marketing of MS TCDC services.

The Social and Digital Media Intern will play an active role of development of MS TCDC digital, Brand and online community. Under the supervision of the Public relations and Sales Officer, the intern will maintain MS TCDC presence on various social media platforms and help create and publish content that is relevant to our customer base. He/she will regularly analyze and report on the activity on social media networks as well as the MS TCDC website. He/she will also assist in maintaining the MS TCDC archive of digital images, videos, and other content.

Attributes and key skills
The internship positions above will be based at the MS TCDC in Usa River, Arusha, Tanzania. The internship is offered under MS TCDC Internship Policy with initially contract of three (3) months and a possibility of extension for the maximum of one (1) year depending on the future programmatic focus and programmatic needs of MS TCDC. It is unpaid internships however, MS TCDC provides lunch and minimum allowance to cover transport.

a) Sales & Marketing Responsibilities:
- Assist in generating sales and sales leads for services offered by MS TCDC
- Work closely with the Program Administrators Team to ensure that all forecast programme targets sales are met.
- Assist in the creation of signage, circulars, mock ups, e-mail campaigns, on line promotion, etc.
- Assist in the distribution or delivery of marketing materials
- Assist with execution of trade shows & events
- Perform analysis of marketing and sales data
- Seek and analyze competitor marketing and sales materials both on and offline
- Telemarketing
- Updating database
- Following up on enquires
- Direct visits to clients
- Identify potential clients with guidelines from Public Relations and Sales Team.
b) Public relation Responsibilities
- Sending out public related mails and email
- Assist in developing, writing and distributing approved press releases
- Assist in proofing written materials for style, grammar, etc.
- Assist with building and maintaining relationships with both local and national media
C) General Office responsibilities:
- Arranging and ensure proper display of marketing materials
- Tracking delivery and impact of marketing campaigns.
- Following up with service providers and deliveries
- Fixing up marketing visits appointments.

- Updates all MS TCDC Social media accounts timely as planned and introduce new ones.
- Responds to posts or comments to bring value to user’s interactions with MS TCDC.
- Posts news and testimonials in a timely manner using appropriate content.
- Performs research to find articles, stories, resources, or other content that is relevant to our customer base and posts them on our social networks in a manner that invites conversation and interaction.
- Updates social media accounts with current and relevant photos, video, or other content from MS TCDC activities and events.
- Grow MS TCDC online social networks by increasing fan-base and interactions.
- Maintains current information in Google+, LinkedIn, Booking.com, Relief Web and other online accounts.
- Completes other social media projects as assigned.
b) Graphic Designing & Digital Media Responsibilities
- Redesigning official documents layouts.
- Translates ideas into effective design – including print, digital, (some) web, identity, and more.
- Assist in brand review and all MS TCDC official documents.
- Capture and photos and videos to the appropriate server.
- Organizes digital images according to purpose (print or web) and designated program categories.
Candidates Profile
- A Diploma or Degree in Business Administration/Marketing and Public Relations, International Relations, Commerce, Graphic designing or a related discipline from accredited institution.
- Conversant with Microsoft applications, basic photo editing and video editing software, and internet, browsers. Experience with Photoshop and InDesign a plus.
- Familiarity with mainstream social media platform.
Attributes and key skills
- Strong communication skills and fluent in English and Kiswahili, both verbal and written. Any other language skills are considered an asset.
- High level of cross-cultural skills and flexibility to work in a multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural team.
- Excellent computer skills and experience with Navision and Social Media is considered a strong asset.
