A gold miner has died after falling into a deep pit in Syanyonja Village, Busitema Sub County, Busia District.
The deceased, identified as Kenneth Bwire, a resident of Sikuda, reportedly fell into the pit after the rope he was using to descend snapped.
Sources at the mine said the incident occurred while Bwire was entering the pit.
