Kampala Lord Mayor Ronald Nsubuga Balimwezo has been seen confronting builders constructing along a residential access route used by residents to reach their homes, while also obstructing a drainage channel.
Balimwezo, a civil engineer by profession, has consistently highlighted Kampala’s infrastructure and urban planning challenges. During his mayoral campaigns, he has emphasised improving service delivery, addressing drainage problems and promoting proper urban planning.
The incident raises concerns about construction activities that interfere with residents’ access to their homes while blocking drainage channels, which could worsen water flow and increase flooding risks in the neighbourhood.
