Airport workers have ended their two-day strike, bringing an end to the agony of hundreds of travellers who have had flight delays and cancellations since Monday.
The decision followed negotiations with the Ministry of Transport, Davis Chirchir, the Ministry of Labour, the Kenya Airports Authority (KAA), and the Kenya Aviation Workers Union (KAWU), where they agreed that the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) would meet grievances raised by the airport workers.
The deal reached on Tuesday afternoon, February 17, is a welcome relief for many travellers, some of whom were not certain of their flights. Earlier in the day, some airlines reported up to four-hour delays at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA).
