I connected the box to my local wifi and connected to their servers and just downloaded an earlier version from the list given then let it install- hence did not use usb.Therefore mine did not ask for a password.Are you able to connect to their servers?Or the ms4040 is different?

Solved this by downgrading from the software released in July 2023 (mediastar mini2727 )to the May 2023 version.It seems like this latest version is glitchy.
