Well what can I say, I love the guy; he has been the most consistent non-leader in our history. In the beginning I had some expectations that under him our nation will have an inspiring and effective leader.. I have been consistently disappointed.
But he is even more consistent in never taking responsibility for anything that he or the people under him have done especially the negative things. He consistently takes credit for all the "good" things. I'm quite sure he will personally take credit for the Twiga Stars' routing of Eritrean team on Sunday. I don't think he would be able to resist the temptation not to.
Just think about it, isn't he the most consistent president we've ever had? I'm quite sure during the upcoming campaign he will consistently remind us of the "mafanikio ya awamu ya nne" as he is now posed to send his ministers upcountry to flout (for a lack of a better word) the "success" of his government. As a matter of fact he has consistently reminded us to "see what the government is doing or has already done". I guarantee you once he's re-elected he will consistently disappoint even his most adamant supporters who have been the most consistent paid-over-the-top defenders!
At least with him we already know what to expect in the next five years - unadulterated level of consistence of the first order; such as,
a. More promises of reform - ushering none except new promises of reform!
b. More review of mining laws - which will start sometimes in 2014! to be completed by his successor; one the most charming consistence of his party tradition.
c. More shuffling and recycling of failed leaders in the name of "bringing more responsibility and efficiency in the government".
d. More of the same... consistently!
On the other hand, am I consistently bit...ng about Kikwete or are you consistently in denial about him?
MMM
