Uganda should change her transport route to Tz

Jamanie, why not Uganda change the route to Tanzania, I think this is a very good opportunity for Tz to modify its roads and if possible a railway so that in stead of Kenyans taking the railway as a weapon to Uganda, they can now be free to pass their goods kupitia Kenya au Tz. Museven, till when will you remain a kenyan colony? Tz changamkia tenda, especially the road from Dar to Mwanza and Bukoba. dili hilo.wakenya kaeni chonjo.
 
Unasema tuchangamkie tenda ambalo hatujawa offered bado? I think this question is better suited for Ugandan's because you are the ones who have the power to move your business else where. If you feel you want to move your business to us then you are free to do so. I am sure if the Ugandan government makes that move we will humbly accept. The only problem is do you want it to move from Kenya to Tanzania simply because of the on going battle of words with Kenya of Migingo? If so then I have to ask, if you move your business to Tanzania and one day you have a problem with us will you switch back to Kenya? I think you are speaking from the heat of the moment, when the Migingo thing comes down and you still feel the same way then contact as our International code is +255. I am not sure whether you are a Ugandan angry at Kenya or a Tanzanian lobbying business for our dear Tanzania. I have already spoken from the point of you of assuming you are a Ugandan. Now if you are a Tanzanian then we need more people like you because you are able to see business opportunities. Anyways this matter is entirely on Uganda. If they want to switch to us they are more than welcome.

ni kwasababu naona uganda wananyanyaswa, hawako huru, wanatakiwa kufanya chochote kile ambacho kenya wanakipenda, kama kenya hawakipendi uganda wanashonwa midomo, wakijaribu kufanya kinyume "reli inang'olewa" na uganda watakosa pa kupitishia mizigo yao. wataishi kwa utumwa hadi lini? nawashauri wabadili njia, waje tz. waangalie their future kama watakuwa na maamuzi binafsi kwaajili ya maslahi ya waganda baadaye kwenye mambo fulanifulani.
 
If they didnt switch during the post election violence era, am sceptical if they can move or if they are thinking of moving now, due to the migingo stand off.

It will be nice for a change, at least waiyaki way will be rid of those transit trucks. Lakini I was wondering, when did Uganda sign an agreement with Kenya for using Kenyas port and Kenyan road as a transit route? what criteria did he use in choosing Kenya and not Tanzania as the route for his goods? What economic advantage are we raking from this venture?

Bro,

the main reason UG chose Kenya was because of the infrastructure
established during the colonial era.Kisha Kenya and UG had the same
colonial master and this relation had already been set by the Brits.

Kisha pia if you compare the distance from Mombasa to Kampala verses
Dar es salaam to Kampala utaona kua the Kenyan one is shorter than
the TZ one.Also Kenya had a better internal road network while TZ had
lagged behind.So a simple cost benefit analysis will point you to Kenya
than Tanzania.

Hii tenda that Mwana wa Mungu is talking about can only bear fruit
if Kikwete starts focussing on a massive roadwork program that cuts
through the middle of the country.Kisha the port of Dar should be
worked on big time.After we do this, then tunaweza kua serious bidders
for the UG market. Tunapoteza hela nyingi na hawa mafisadi and they
are running loose in our country while nothing is being done.

Finally if the reason for going after this tender is selfish( eti M7 anapigana
na wakenya) then it will not work.I can't trust M7 a lick and who knows
anaweza akatugeukia na jeuri zake kama ilivyo sasa na wakenya.That is
Museveni for you.

hiyo ni ndoto mchana , ndoto isiyo na maana. Tanzania ni nchi yakuwa mbali sana kulinganisha kenya . Lakikni sisi tuna laana kiasi kwamba hawa walioko katika uongozi wanachofikiria ni kuiba tu na siomaendeleo. Mamlaka ya bandari haina mikakati ya maendeleo wanachoshindana ni kuiba na kuchelewesha mizigo ya watu. 'oppotunity is not something you wait for, it's something you create'. Kipindi cha fujo za kenya watu wa bandari walisema eti 'fujo za kenya zitainufaisha bandari ya dsm. Kama mtazamo wao ni kusubiri kenya kuwe na fujo ,ujue kama sisi hatujui tunachokifanya. Wamesahau kama bandari ni sehemu ya biashara. Sio kumsubiri mteja bali kumfuata mteja. Kwanini kenya wawe na biashara hiyo tanzania ishindwe? ...sio Uganda tuu hata Rwanda,Burundi zote tunaweza kuchukua market kwa 100% lakini sio kwa kusubiri crisis itokee kati yao,siku zote business zinatafuta efficient to cut their cost,JK na serikali yake wana kila sababu ya kufanya hili lakini ufisadi na akili ndogo ndio maana halifanyiki,modernize ile bandari then jenga the fastest and high reliable route (highway & railways)) to their borders na hakikisha tax & other fees zinakuja chini to the minimum,make sure the route is bureaucracy and corruption free,then hire high quality employee wanaojua kazi bila corruption...nakuhakikishia wakifanya hivyo kenya will never see them again!
 
You guys don;t have what it takes to route the business from Kenya. If you did, you would have taken it away when Kenya was in election crisis. But my friend, you have a long way to go to catch up with Kenya. Don't forget, Kenya is building super fast highway to Uganda border. But keep dreaming; it's always good to dream big. See ya.
 
Mimi nadhani kuifanya Uganda itumie bandari yetu au la ni suala la kiuchumi zaidi na si la kisiasa. Kila mtu hupenda kupata huduma inayoridhisha na kwa gharama nafuu (ikibidi).

Geographically na kimiundombinu Mombasa ndiyo ideal port for Ugandans in term of economic advantages, kwahiyo basi ili tuweze kupata sehemu ya soko la waganda inatubidi tuweze kuangalia ni kwa jinsi gani tunaweza kuwaambia waganda kuwa bandari zetu ni nzuri zaidi kwa kuwahudumia wao ukilinganisha na Mombasa.
Kwa mfano, ukiangalia katika mipango ya muda mrefu bandari ya Tanga ambayo ndiyo inapaswa kuwa alternative au mshindani wa Mombasa imesemekana kutengwa kwa ajili ya kuwahudumia waganda, lakini hadi leo hakuna miundo mbinu yeyote ambayo inaonekana kuwekwa kwa ajili ya kukamata soko la Uganda. Ukiangalia kwa upande wa kusini Bandari ya Mtwara inaweza kuwa ndiyo alternative ya Bandari ya Beira endapo ingeweza kuwekwa katika kiwango kinachoridhisha kwa ajili ya matumizi ya shehena za Malawi. Tanzania ina advantage kubwa ya kumiliki aslilimia kubwa ya masoko ya usafirishaji wa bidhaa za Uganda na Malawi.
Kwa mujibu wa takwimu za Tanzania Ports Authority, Malawi na Uganda ndiyo zenye kupitisha shehena chache zaidi kuliko nchi zingine huku Uganda ikiwa ya mwisho na Malawi ya pili kutoka mwisho.
Zaidi ya hapo Katika kipindi cha 2004/05 na 2005/06 shehena za mizigo zinazopita bandari ya Dar es Salaam kutoka na kwenda kwenye nchi za jirani ziliongezeka kila mwaka isipokuwa za Uganda katika kipindi hicho zilipungua kutoka tani 102,913 hadi 84,966 ambao ni wastani wa 17.4%.
Kwahiyo inabidi mamlaka husika iweke mkazo katika kuhakikisha viwango vya shehena kupitia bandari kwa nchi za Uganda na Malawi vinaongezeka. Vilevile uimarishaji wa bandari za Tanga na Mtwara zitaweza kutoa fursa nzuri ya kuboresha huduma katika bandari ya Dar es Salaam na kuongeza shehena ya mizigo ya Zambia, DRC, Burundi na Rwanda.

Tz tuna a lot of opportunities na hatujui kuzitumia. Tuna bandari Dar, Tanga na Mtwara. Zingekuwa vizuri na well connected with good roads and railways tungekuza uchumi kupitia usafirishaji. South Africa wana slogan 'transportation is the heartbeat of country economy'.

Bandari hizi zingekuza uchumi kwa usafiri kwenda Malawi, Msumbiji na Zambia (Mtwara); Congo, Rwanda na Burundi (Dar); Uganda, Kenya na hata Somalia (Tanga).

Bandari hizi, reli na barabara pia zingekuza sana biashara ya ndani na nje. Nchi ipo vizuri ina kila aina ya neema toka kwa Mungu lakini viongozi wake zaidi ya ufisadi ni mazuzu pia.

Badala ya kukuza uwezo wa ndani kupitia kodi, maliasili na kudhibiti ufisadi na matumizi yasio ya lazima ya serikali, JK wetu kila kukicha kuombaomba tu na bakuli lake na kufikiria tu namna ya kufika 2015 akiwa madarakani.

Our decision makers are not such creative mkuu!! always wao ni wa mwisho ku-notice opportunities, na hata pale zinapokuwapo watazifunga!! Hukumbuki serikali ya Mkapa ilipowawekea vikwazo burundi wakati burundi ilikuwa inategemea bandari na roads zetu!!! Tumekaa na wakimbizi kwa muda mrefu, badala ya kuwa-turn them into opportunies wakawa disaster kwetu!!!

Somebody should suggest the solution of the dispute.
