"Deeper Than Rap" marks the third studio album by southern Florida's rapper
Rick Ross. The lp was released on April 21, 2009, under his own label,
Maybach Music Group, unlike his previous releases with Slip-N-Slide Records.
"Deeper Than Rap" is another extremely strong effort by Rick Ro$$, which
features few missteps throughout the album. Similar to Young Jeezy, Ross
continues to lyrically step his pen game up (Kimbo Slice on the pad when I
write) while also enlisting The J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League to produce the majority
of his album. Although "Deeper" is littered with a plethora of guest features,
only those closest to him seem to hinder Ross (e.g., Gunplay on Gunplay
and Foxxy Brown on the God-awful tune Murda Mami).
"Deeper Than Rap" certainly delivers and stands as another excellent notch
in the large (no pun intended) belt of the biggest boss that youve seen thus
far.
