There was a moment of murmuring, disbelief and embarrassment in an otherwise beautiful event after power, perhaps not unexpectedly, went off midway through presidential fundraising dinner on Tuesday. No sooner had President JK led an auctioning of a Mwalimu Julius Nyerere and wooed companies, organisations and individuals to contribute for the development of the University of Dar es Salaam, then darkness filled the packed Mlimani City Hall.
Chants of Ngeleja! Ngeleja! (referring to the minister of Energy and Minerals) were heard from the back of the hall, suggesting that they were adding to the growing calls for the resignation or sacking of the minister for failing to address power shortage in the country.
Kazi Kweli Kweli!!!!!!!
