following vacant positions at its Headquarters, Dar es Salaam.
ECONOMIST – 2 POSTS
Reports to: Head of Division.
Location: Head Office – Financial Sector Stability Department
Job purpose:
To carry out research, monitor and analyse developments in the global and domestic
macroeconomic environment, financial markets and financial infrastructure with a view
to assessing their impact on financial stability.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
a) Maintaining and updating the department's database;
b) Formulating macro-economic scenarios for use in regular stress testing of the
banking sector;
c) Assist in liaison arrangements with other directorates in the Bank and with other
financial regulators;
d) Monitoring developments in the global and domestic macroeconomic
environment;
e) Monitoring developments in the domestic financial markets (money markets,
foreign exchange markets and capital markets) with a view to assessing their
impact on financial stability;
f) Monitoring the performance of the corporate and household sectors with a view
to assessing their implications on financial stability;
g) Monitoring progress in financial integration in the East African Community and
its implications to financial stability;
h) Monitoring regulatory and financial infrastructure developments;
i) Conducting research and analysis of issues that support the Bank's financial
stability objectives;
j) Providing inputs on briefing materials for the Bank's publications such as
Financial Stability Report, Management and Board Reports and for its
representatives to the Tanzania Financial Regulators Forum and regional
meetings;
k) Performing other related duties as may be assigned by the head of division.
Essential Requirements:
 Master's degree in economics.
 Computer literacy.
 Good team player.
 Excellent written and oral communication skills.
 Experience in conducting economic research is an added advantage.
FINANCIAL ANALYST – 2 POSTS

Job purpose:
To carry out research, monitor and analyse the performance of the financial system and
developments in the banking, insurance, securities and pension sub-sectors with a view
to assessing their impact on financial stability.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
a) Maintaining and updating the department's database;
b) Monitoring and analyzing the performance of the banking, insurance, securities
and pension subsectors with a view to assessing their impact on financial
stability and recommending remedial measures;
c) Conducting banking sector stress testing;
d) Assist in liaison arrangements with other directorates in the Bank and with other
financial regulators;
e) Monitoring and conducting periodic assessment of inter-linkages among
financial sub-sectors at national and regional levels in order to assess their
implications on systemic risks;
f) Monitoring the crisis preparedness arrangements in the banking, insurance,
securities and pension subsectors through their respective regulators;
g) Reviewing the work of international standard-setting organizations for financial
stability with a view to identifying those with implications to the domestic
financial system;
h) Undertaking periodic surveys on risks perceptions and direction in the banking,
insurance, securities and pension subsectors;
i) Conducting research on issues that support the Bank's financial stability
mandate of the Bank;
j) Monitoring financial regulatory developments in the country and in the East
African Community region in order to assess their implications on financial
stability;
k) Preparing regular reviews on financial soundness and proposing necessary
remedial measures;
l) Providing inputs on briefing materials for the Bank's publications such as
Financial Stability Reports, Management and Board Reports and for its
representatives to the Tanzania Financial Regulators Forum and regional
meetings;
m) Performing other related duties as may be assigned by the head of division.
Essential Requirements:
 Master's degree in Finance, Accounting or other related fields.
 Ability to analyze financial issues.
 Computer literacy.
 Good team player.
 Excellent written and oral communication skills.
