A clear demonstration of undemocratic practices. When a different or contrary opinion is expressed, insults fly around, disrespectful abusive language is engaged and sometimes even threats. And I wonder is the democratic, democratic?

Well fellows, it happened. Something that was seen as impossible if not improbable did happen this past weekend. Some people were left with some questions of what that really meant. I’m talking about a chance encounter between Edward Lowassa former Presidential candidate (CHADEMA) and his opponent in the last year’s General Election President John Magufuli. Of all the controversial actions Magufuli has taken none proved to be more divisive and combative than that of limiting the free exercise of politics in the country. His reasoning that political parties and politicians should focus their politics in their respective constituencies was opposed by many in the opposition. Not only that the police following the cue from the President issued a blanket order to political parties to halt any plans of political rallies and demonstrations. On that one Magufuli had crossed a line that was intolerable; at least according to CHADEMA.

Magufuli has thus been portrayed as reckless, dangerous with proclivities of a dictatorship if not a READ MORE
