    [h=3]Concussion Overview[/h]
    The term concussion describes an injury to the brain resulting from an impact to the head. By definition, a concussion is not a life-threatening injury, but it can cause both short-term and long-term problems. A concussion results from a closed-head type of injury and does not include injuries in which there is bleeding under the skull or into the brain. Another type of brain injury must be present if bleeding is visible on a CT scan (CAT scan) of the brain.
    • A mild concussion may involve no loss of consciousness (feeling "dazed") or a very brief loss of consciousness (being "knocked out").
    • A severe concussion may involve prolonged loss of consciousness with a delayed return to normal.
    [h=3]Concussion Causes[/h]
    A concussion can be caused by any significant blunt force trauma to the head such as a fall, a car accident, sports injury, or being struck on the head with an object

    ila kwa majibu hayo ni afadhali uchunguzi ungefanywa
    na waganga wa kienyeji wangetoa majibu ya uhakika kuliko hayo.

    Au nimeelewa vibaya....unaweza kupoteza fahamu au kupata matatizo ya muda mrefu lakini sio kupoteza maisha. Unless kichwa kiligongana na kitu kigumu wakati kilikuwa na matatizo tayari...

    inawezekana,lakini bado wanasema kuwa unaweza kupoteza maisha baada ya siku tatu,hata kama hautopoteza wakati huo ulipo anguka ama ulipogongwa na kitu kizito

    Ukishakufa wewe umekufa, hakuna zaidi.

    Mkuu hata mimi nashangaa sana, niliwahi kushuhudia incidents za brain concussion watu wanapoteza fahamu kwa muda alafu wanazinduka, lakini hii ya STEVE inatisha sana impact yake ilikuwa ya BRUTE force ambayo si yakawaida! Mimi si amini kama hiyo ilikuwa ni mambo ya kuangukia kisogo tu basi - Mungu atanisamehe nikisema kwamba kuna walakini sana, mimi naona aidha alipigwa na kitu blunt kwa nguvu nyingi sana na mtu wa miraba minne; si rahisi kisicha kile ku-inflict trauma kama hile ikikumbukwa kwamba STEVE naye alikuwa mtu anayafanya mazoezi, au mtu alimsukuma kwa nguvu za ajabu sana mpaka akajigonga kwenye kitu blunt, swali ni je kisichana hicho hizo nguvu kilizipata WAPI?

    Inaweza kutokea,mara nyingi iwapo muhusika alishawahi kupata mild brain injury siku za nyuma.....na kwa mara ya pili hujulikana kama second impact syndrome

    Diffuse cerebral swelling is a rare but generally fatal complication of mild head injury . The cause is hypothesized to be disordered cerebral autoregulation causing cerebrovascular congestion and malignant cerebral edema with increased intracranial pressure. The term "second impact syndrome" is used when diffuse cerebral swelling occurs after a second concussion, while an athlete is still symptomatic from an earlier concussion. Some have suggested a similarity with this phenomenon and the shaken baby syndrome .The second impact syndrome is a rare and somewhat controversial complication. It is unclear why this is not a more frequently reported occurrence in boxers who seem at very high risk for repeated concussions within a short time span. A 1998 review of the 17 published cases to date revealed that in 12 of these cases, there was insufficient documentation of a second impact and/or cerebral pathology such that the diagnosis of second impact syndrome seemed questionable (UpToDate Inc.)
