    Opinion polls ratings released today by Nation Media Group by Strategic Research, Infotrak Harris and Consumer Insight:

    Raila [46%, 45.8%, 42.5%]
    Kibaki [36%, 35.9%, 40.8%]
    Kalonzo [17%, 16.4%, 15.1%]

    Unofficial opinion poll survey done by the National Security Intelligence Service (NSIS) and leaked to this blogger by an insider shows that;

    With 100% average turnout Raila 63% Kibaki 27%;
    With a 90% turnout Raila 58% Kibaki 33%;
    With a 80% turnout Raila 53% Kibaki 39%;
    With a 50% turnout Raila 43% Kibaki 42%.

    The leaked NSIS data does not show/mention Kalonzo Musyoka nor any other presidential candidates. These are the figures that senior cabinet ministers and the president’s close friends (read athuri) are scratching their heads over as of this morning.

    ODM – who also have their internal opinion poll experts – know they are ahead of the PNU in the presidential and parliamentary race, and are banking their final campaign theme on a higher voter turn-out.

    With exactly 13 days to the general elections, it appears Kibaki is poised to be sent packing from state house, a development which will greatly embarrass the head of state especially considering that he was elected in 2002 with an overwhelming majority and national goodwill. What went wrong? Is it the disregarding of the coalition MOU with LDP? Nepotism? Corruption?

    Only time will tell.

    "........ he was elected in 2002 with an overwhelming majority and national goodwill." Do not forget - under Narc government not Gvt. of National Unity!

    What went wrong? All of the above: disregard of the coalition,MOU, Nepotism,Corruption, Self-damage unnecessary scandals, like the Artul brothers, Lucy antics etc.

    What went wrong? Alot went wrong. What party is he running his campaign on again? PNU? Does that include Kanu? Last time I checked I thought people had rejected that, why should they accept it now?

    Watching Kibaki, one is tempted to believe that this is a good man, but I think his leadership style leaves alot to be desired.

    Two weeks, and Kenya would teach us all a very good lesson. I only hope this will be the beginning of the end of their tribal and ethnicity problems.

    Mimi kama Mtanzania nawa admire wakenya kwa kuwa hawana wana ufahamu mkubwa katika masuala ya kisiasa.Hata kampeni zao ni tofauti kabisa na huku kwetu.Walimpeleka Moi Kabarak na sasa inaelekea Kibaki anafungishwa virago.Sisi ni CCM maisha hata kama viongozi wabovu kiasi gni.Mungu ibariki Tanzania.

    Kwa taarifa yako, Kenya wametuacha kwa kila kitu, isipokuwa kwenye national unity na kiswahili chetu,sisi wa pole na tumejichanganya sana,tuna-mind masuala ya kijamijii sana! mwisho tuna-natural resources nyingi zaidi zaidi kuliko wao, ingawa tuna-tamani tusingejaliwa maana tunaziuza kama vile ni kero kwetu.

    MzalendoHalisi:

    Namba (2) yako, kama ulivyoiweka hapo chini bila ya maelezo yoyote inatia utata mwingi.
    Isingekuwa mambo ya ukabila, na tabia yao ya vurugu vurugu nyingi hata mahali isipotakiwa, waKenya wangekuwa juu sana kisiasa.

    Nimeanza kuwa na wasiwasi mkubwa mno na tabia hii ya kudorora kwa siasa zetu za hapa Tanzania. Sioni 'credit' tena na kupumbaa kwa mawazo kama tulionao waBongo! Something needs to change, and soon.

    Sina maana ya vurugu/ukabila/udini.

    WaTanzania mna mengi sana ya kujivunia. Hata huku Kenya tunajua hilo. Ila ni lazima pia muwe courageous enough kuipatia CCM challenge ili muweze kuwa na political choices nyingi kwenye uwanja ya siasa. Kwa kweli, pengine kutokana na historia yenu ya baada-ukoloni na pia upana wa nchi yenu yenyewe CCM ni mwafaka. Hata hivyo, the paces Kenya has made through blood, burnt houses, riots and quarrelsome politicking towards Democratic governance ni kubwa mno. Kuna wengi, nikiwemo mimi, wameandika makala mengi tuu wakidai kwamba Tanzania is where Kenya was in the 1980s politically. Hii haina maana eti kwamba Tanzania ipo nyuma kimaendeleo au kifikra. No. Inamaana kwamba ukichunguza characteristics za siasa na utawala wa Chama Moja iliyo sugu (ie CCM) inafanana sana na vile KANU ilivyokuwa sugu siku hizo.

    Naamini kwamba kama Mwalimu hangemsambaratisha Kambona, ingekuwa na uwezekano that Kambona angeendelea mbele na kuunda chama cha kwanza cha upinzani miaka hizo. Chama hiyo ingekuwa hivi sasa na wanawe na vijukuu kama ilivyo Kenya. Imagine kama Babake Raila hangekuwa na ushujaa wa kuchallenge Kenyatta na kuanzisha party ya upinzani ya Kenya KPU miaka ya sitini...si pengine tungekuwa katika hali hio ya TZ...yaani kila kitu ni KANU KANU KANU.

    The tradition of Political Opposition must be stout in any country that seeks to move on economically. Republicans and Democrats za US, the Conservatives and the Labour Party of UK, these are just some typical cases mahala inaonekana wananchi wa nchi hizo wakikerwa sana na uongozi wa chama kimoja huchagua kile kingine mpaka watakapoudhika tena na warudi kwa kile cha kwanza.Hivi sasa Kenya kuna vyama vingi lakini inazidi kubainika kwamba in future hizi zitakolea into two groups. Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) na Party of National Unity (PNU). Zingine ndo zitakuwepo tu jili katiba inazihalalisha lakini zitakua allies wa hivi viwili vikubwa.

    In Kenya today, even Raila anajua anaingia ikulu lakini wananchi watampa miaka mitano aji proove. Atakapokosa kufanya hivyo basi kina Uhuru na KANU watarejea tena 2012 ndani ya Serekali. After kumbwaga Moi na chaguo lake Uhuru in 2002, na kubwaga Kibaki na katiba pendekezi kwa kura ya maoni in 2005, Kenyans wanaamini sasa kwamba the voters card ndio mjeledi wakuwarekebisha African leaders. Ni mjeledi huo huo ndio wanataka kumcharaza nayo Rais Kibaki na serikali yake fisadi na iliyokithiri na ukabila tarehe 27/12/2007.

    Kwa maoni yangu watu ambao wametufanya tuwe na imani kwa politics chafu na ngumu za Kenya ni majeshi yetu. Hawa ni true sons and daughters wa nchi. Hata siasa zikuwe kali kivipi au watu wakatane kwa mapanga namna gani Jeshi La Kenya limekuwatulivu na professional. Ingelikuwa kwingine Africa basi kila mara wanaJeshi hawa wangekuwa wanafanya mapinduzi ili kusapot boss wao (rais...Moi na Kibaki) lakini wametupendeza sana. Natoa hadharani pongezi kwa Chief of General Staff General Kianga na wanawe. General Tonje pia aliyekuwa chini ya Moi hoyeee! Wote walitoka kwa kabila za marais hao wawili lakini wametuonyesha kwamba sio bure wanasifika kwenye missions za UN kama one of the most professional Armed Forces in Africa and the world.See http://www.nytimes.com/ref/world/africa/20070724_AFRICA_GRAPHIC.html#

    Wakuu mimi naona kama kungelikuwepo na chama chenye mtazamo wa Mh. Zitto na wawe Zitto wengine kadhaa humo, kina Mh. Kikwete wangeongeza bidii? Tanzania has a lot of resources lakini inanisikitisha kila ninapokuja huko kwa miezi mitatu kila mwaka kukagua miradi za kampuni na huwasalimu wakwe kwamba wapo wadau wengi tuu wananung'unika ccm na siasa zake za Dar tuu zinaipotezea wakati Tanzania huku akina Rwanda na wengine kama DRC wanasort out their political nightmares na kusonga mbele. Itawanufaisha kujaribu kutafuta an alternative political life njee ya nyumba ya CCM...pengine sio kina Mbowe lakini tafuteni. Nadhani DRC ndio inaresources nyingi zaidi Great Lakes Region lakini bila political development, social development na natural resource wealth ni vipodozi tu. Mungu ameibariki Tanzania.Lakini waTanzania lazima wakatae siasa ya uongo eti ni dominance ya CCM tuu ndio itawezesha Tanzania kusonga mbele na baraka zake Maulana.

    Nawasihi kwenye maombi za Id el Hajj na Krismasi msisahau kuiombea kheri ODM na nchi dada yenu KENYA.

    Kibaki abaki Nyeri na Raila atamalaki ka Rais!
