EAC: Kenya has no reason to bend too low for acceptance

It is good that Kenya is coming out of the closet now.It was always about our land 'we give they take'.Dont for one moment think it will be a temporary thing it will be what Israeli's call 'facts on the ground',which the palestinians have found the hard way cannot be changed easily.Such arogance eti we have a lot of unused land Duh! our population is growing we need space to expand to as Wachagga have found the hard way.

This is another one of the typical politics that hinder our progress. Even without knowing that it was from the Daily Nation, you can sense that it was printed to promote Kenyan interests at the expense of other EAC-to-be countries. For one, saying that "In Tanzania, Kenyans seem to be seen as criminals first and foremost.", and your only support is a vague and isolated instance of a woman who was gunned down on bank robbery suspicion, is absurd. There is no mention of the where-about of the woman that lead her to be shot. Tanzanians do not go around looking for a reason to shoot Kenyans!

The articles seems to convey the idea that Kenyans are innocent investors seeking to invest in the EAC and that Tanzanians and Ugandans are "haters". This is very misleading. Kenyans or any other investors for that matter, are looking for an opportunity to make money. If that process involves setting a factory in another country, fine. But the object is to make money. If that is not achieved, investors will leave. So Kenyan investors in Tanzania are there to make money, in other words it is profitable for them to stay. Fortunately, they happen to create some jobs along the way. If they leave, for some reason, then yes, jobs will be lost. But the lose will not only be in the part of Tanzanians but also for those very investors and the Kenyans too!

As you know that most EAC countries are capitalist-leaning, so the EAC will give people with capital access to vast resources. These people are few and unless the majority feel helped by this there is bound to be conflicts. So it is important for countries to evaluate their capabilities and potential as well as brace themselves for new challenges that will emerge with the EAC.

It will be far wiser for media to focus on common ground than promoting their nation's interest while antagonizing others. This won't get us anywhere. Kila mtu akivutia kwake, tutafika kweli?

...wabongo sijui tunaogopa nini na hiyo EAC? nafikiri kila kitu in EAC is a win win kwa TZ,mnapenda stupid borders sijui inasaidia nini? hao mnaowasema Kenya,Rwanda,Uganda etc wameshatupiga bao kiuchumi na wanaenda mbele kwa kasi sisi tumebaki kuwaogopa mafisadi na ninafikiri tunawahitaji wao zaidi kuliko wanavyotuhitaji...kuna mtu katoa point kama EAC ingekuwepo hata hiyo EPA isingetokea na kama ingetokea wangeshughulikiwa kisawa sawa..say YES to EAC!
Go hang yourself,
Unategemea someone aje asolve your problems
Kwaiyo unadhani ni nani angesuluhisha hiyo epa yako if not you. Mjinga wewe!!
This kind of thinking is absolutely stupidity.
No one in your lifetime will ever spare his beautiful time to solve your problems, labda mama yako mzazi..
And let me remind you my countrymen, our problems will be resolved by ourselves,
Hata hao Kenyans need that EAC for their own benefits, usijedhani they need it to benefit us as watz,
What we need is to set our rules which protects our interests first, then we get them enforced..
Otherwise we better stay without this federation..
They need it more than we need it, we need to think careful on this..
