Documents needed for exporting to Dubai

Health certificates and country of origin certificates are a must for all products that would be exported to the country. Import of plant products like dry pea, vegetables, and fruits and so on would require an additional document called the Animal & Plant Health Inspection Service Phytosanitary Certificate.

Labeling requirements

For any consumer product exported to the country, labels must be made in Arabic as well. They would be required to show the following information:
· Description of the product
· Ingredients
· Country of origin
· Net weight

With regards to labeling of boxes of fresh vegetables and fruits vital information excluding production/expiry dates should be clearly visible and include:
· Country of origin
· Details of the producer, importer/exporter, distributor and manufacturer
· Details of the vendor
· Special preparation and storage instructions
· Approval from Ministry of Health before making any health claims
· Lot identification

Custom procedures governing export of agricultural goods

One of the pre-conditions that exporters have to fulfill is that of getting an import certificate from the municipality of Dubai, which would enable the entry of their agricultural products.

At the same time, there are certain agricultural products require the approval of the Food Control Section of Dubai municipality’s Public Health Department. These are:
· Cereal, rye flour, wheat, groats and meal
· Rice as well as broken rice
· Processed cereal products
· Compound feeding products made from cereals
· Beef and veal

Following the arrival of the shipments at the port, a visual inspection is carried out to ensure compliance with labeling and shelf life rules and regulations. In cases where products are found unfit for human consumption, they are either disposed off or exported back to the country of origin in 30 days.
