The main sponsors of the English Premier League, plan to bring one of the top teams in Englands top flight to Tanzania.
The Barclay Bank's managing director in Tanzania, Rishede Bade, has declared that he will bring an English Premier League club to Tanzania, after unveiling the trophy, which arrived in Dar es Salaam yesterday for a two-day tour.
It takes a lot of logistics to bring a Premier League team here, but as sponsors were determined to bring one. Were going to work on it and see how best the mission can be achieved, he observed.
However, he did say that the tricky side lies on deciding on which team should visit the country, as every fan would like to see the team that they support arrive.
Bade also said that the Premier League trophy tour in Tanzania, aimed at giving local football fans and enthusiasts a chance to enjoy the most revered symbol of what is arguably the best known and most popular domestic football competition in the world.
He continued, The Barclays Premier League is watched in over 200 territories and broadcast worldwide in more than 500 million homes. In Tanzania, football fans and enthusiasts are equally keyed up to the league.
The Premier League trophy tour is an opportunity for Barclays Bank to give back to its esteemed customers and to the general public.
