President Uhuru Kenyatta once described Mwai Kibaki as ‘president see no evil, do no evil and hear no evil’- that was when Uhuru was leader of the opposition.

He was complaining about what he termed as Kibaki’s arrogance. Today, our civilian-elected president is strutting around in military uniform, dumb to what’s going on around him.

Take the case of armed men with assault rifles who stormed an international airport, abducted a Kenyan citizen, and allegedly drugged him, before putting him on a plane out of the country.

President Uhuru is known to be very hypersensitive. He doesn’t like being criticised and his public outbursts are sometimes very strange. In Miguna Miguna he has met a man who fires from all cylinders.

Miguna’s very strong resistance to his deportation isn’t really about himself. Let’s admit it, he can be arrogant and off-putting. Some people are an acquired taste and Miguna is one of them.

But Miguna understands the Constitution. He knows the executive is disobeying the Constitution. If Miguna Miguna, a high flying lawyer, a man who ran for governor, a Kenyan Citizen who served in the prime minister’s office, can be abused and molested like that, what about you and me?

Court orders are plainly that, an order. It’s not a suggestion. Fred Matiang’i and Joseph Boinnet are defying and breaking the Constitution. It’s a dangerous precedent. It’s turning Kenya into a banana country. Lady Justice is blind.

The scales of justice aren’t favouring Miguna, it’s the facts, and facts are stubborn. Uhuru wants the court to act illegally and strip Miguna of his citizenship. Uhuru’s government’s disregard for the Constitution is destroying Kenya. And in this destruction Raila Odinga has no voice.

Raila shook hands with Uhuru Kenyatta, demobilised his supporters and now he doesn’t appear to have any form of direction. He can’t order his troops. He can’t call for a mass protest to send a strong statement that Uhuru is breaking the Constitution.
Raila Odinga shook hands and can’t translate to his supporters what that handshake means. Word on the street is that Raila is the only beneficiary of the handshake, that’s why he cannot face millions who believed and voted for him. Kenya is now a one party state.

I am laughing at Kenyans who voted for flower boys and girls as members of parliament. Those flower boys and girls are escorting Uhuru as his government breaks the Constitution.

The presidency has defied a court order to stop building the SGR through Nairobi National Park. Court orders are now mere papers. In this new dispensation of Uhuru’s government, expect anarchy. Anarchy, because the law that is supposed to protect us from criminals, land grabbers and rich thieves is being defiled by people who swore to protect it.

To the young people of this country, our present and future are at stake. We have to defend the Constitution. We have to protect the Constitution. We have to protect the laws of the land. A country cannot be run on feelings. A country cannot be run through hashtags.

A country cannot be run on handshakes. The President will not lose anything by firing Matiangi and Boinnet. If Uhuru Kenyatta, who is said to really fancy Matiangi, doesn’t do that, Kenya is in trouble. The law is our protector from rogue politicians, cops and court defying executives.

Court orders are amazing. When l was running for public office, busy in my campaign, l had a disagreement with the nephew of my landlord, who was managing the property I lived in. He issued me with an eviction notice and what saved me from being kicked out was a court order.

The law protected me and my family from his tantrums and after the elections we found another house to move into.

The law should protect you even if the devil happens to be the President. The law is the equalizer and as the brave Justice Odunga put it, ‘there is no immunity to impunity’.
