Vice President Dr Guy Scott
Vice President Dr Guy Scott has given the biggest indication that President Michael Sata will miss Friday's jubilee celebrations as he will still be away receiving medical treatment.
Dr Scott told journalists in Lusaka today that cabinet ministers will share responsibilities during the jubilee celebrations that will be held over two days. President Sata is currently away on medical treatment and may have to stay a little longer given his medical condition that has kept him locked away from public life since opening parliament on September, 18.
It is the first time State House has publicly announced that the Head of State has left the country to seek medical treatment although they have still been cagey on the treatment facility visited. Dr Scott has also said that 20 countries will be represented at the 50th Jubilee celebrations in Lusaka.
He however could not come out clean on the number of Heads of State expected during the festivities.
