EAC, SADC, ECOWAS, AU and UN should have a list of potential countries which coups are likely to happen and proactively take measures to prevent them from happen. The key signs and symptoms of coups are dissatisfaction of people against their rulers' management and doings. The key challenge will be how to quantify the level and magnitude/percentage of the dissatisfaction, But EAC, SADC, ECOWAS, AU and UN must come up with a formula and means for how to sniff serious danger signs for turmoil within their member countries that may end up with coups as happened in Zimbambwe and elsewhere. These organs should not stay idol till things get rotten. Prevention is much better than cure.

Mkuu there are national sovereignty issue. How do you propose they go around that.

".... countries which coups are likely to happen and proactively take measures to prevent them from happen..."

if at all, it is for the benefits of the majority then let it happen.

What happened in Zimbabwe was unique. It was actually extremely well planned operation. You need very intelligent people to pull it off.

For most African countries it ll be almost impossible to do something similar without a lot bloodshed and many people dying.

Leaders have a lot to learn from what happened in Zimbabwe. One of the learns lent were like, Not all soldiers think the same about their " bosses", soldiers are also citizens, not all yeses from citizens mean YES to their leaders, given circumstances a lizard can behave as a snake, no one is above all people, fake smiles make leaders forget their enemies.
