FORMER Hibs and Kilmarnock boss Bobby Williamson appears to be persona non grata in Tanzania after he was accused of bribing the referee in an angry outburst by a rival manager.
The Scot, now in charge of Uganda, watched his country's under-23 team win the first leg of an All-African Games qualifier against Tanzania. But Williamson was stunned when he went to shake hands with Tanzania manager Jamhuri Kihwelu at the full-time whistle.
Kihwelu shouted: "You bribed the referee. Your officials met him in a hotel. It will be hell for you in Dar es Salaam (for the return leg] and we will do everything to eliminate you."
The spat then continued on to the pitch, with police and officials involved in the old-fashioned rammy. Both managers were annoyed at the performance of Somali referee Nuru Muhammed.
Williamson said after the game: "He was just a bad loser."
