Dar es Salaam — Lack of support from African countries forced Tanzania's Prof Sospeter Muhongo to pull out of the race for the top post in the United Nations Education, Science and Cultural Organisation (Unesco).

The election of the Unesco director general was scheduled to be concluded in Paris last evening.

Prof. Muhongo is among the few committed and credible International learned Tanzanians.
When you compaired him with all the other candidates, he stood as the only real Scientist!
Well, I think we need him badly to serve in our Government today. He can fit better in different Ministries such as those entrusted on Energy, Education, Science & Technology.

Mama unaonekana huna ground za kumshutumu Prof. Muhongo, vinginevyo mwaga hapa upupu utuonyeshe ambavyo ametumia ukabila katika huduma zake hapa nchini na hata huko alipo sasa. Vinginevyo kama humfahamu vizuri tembelea hata hiyo tovuti ya icsu (http://www.icsu-africa.org) uone kazi zake na anavyochapa kazi na Secretarieti ya watu gani.
