I agree with you, Mzee2000. We Africans need to be wary of both. We can not let ourselves be lured by the West into believing that they are better than the Chinese; as the Guardian UK article would want us to. Check out this, for example: "Indeed, within a mere decade, more Chinese have come to live in Africa than there are Europeans on the continent, even after many centuries of European colonial and neocolonial rule." This is a typical patronising statement that exposes how the "white man" still views Africa as his rightful property.

This article is nothing but an uncle sam's song!..And they write this thinking that Africans will fall into their trap.What we need to understand is that whoever comes is neither mr friendly nor mr. I care about you. Whoever comes to Africa comes to exploit and rip benefits. You can't blame Chinese if they take advantage of us,we have to blame ourselves for being lazy.In this world today people mean business,you make a slight mistake people take advantage of you!....So the guardian need to stop their songs cuz we are not taking them seriously,we know what they're all about!
