    Store Manager

    Description:This position requires:
    • A Highly organized and methodolical thinker, with great planning skills and ability to not only delegate many tasks to many people, but also to manage and control these tasks and the people carrying them out
    • Pay great attention to detail
    • Ability to work under lots of pressure in a busy company with tight deadlines and demanding customers
    • Able to lead by example and easily earn the respect and support of all his colleagues whether subordinates, equals or senior management
    • A systematic and logical thinker, especially for tracing back stock discrepancies after stock takes - almost like an auditor
    • Have the utmost integrity / trustworthiness
    • A good teacher and willing to pass on his knowledge in a clear and patient way
    • Happy to assist fellow colleagues in different departments
    • Be someone who loves their job and their chosen career - it mustn't be "just a job"!
    • Able to manage a team of approx. 12 store helpers who are not well educated and therefore need a special kind of management and understanding. This can be frustrating and stressful for the stores manager, so they have to be able to handle this and TRAIN up people and weed out those that don't want to learn/progress.
    • A transport manager assistant and therefore manage drivers (4) with busy schedules for deliveries and collections; and vehicles ( 3 trucks, 5 cars & 3 motor bikes) - with all the maintenance and route planning and driver activities
    • Able to command respect and authority but at the same time be a team player and fair and professional.
    • Must have a formal storekeeping qualification - preferably a diploma in materials management.
    • Must have at least 5 year experience.
    Requirements:EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Must have at least 10 - 15 years work experience, and of this, at least 5 should have been as a Stores Manager;
    • If not a Stores Manager, then we would possibly consider another type of related manager, e.g Logistics, Procurement, Transport - but he should have managed several people with multiple tasks
    • It would be a bonus if he had Transport or Fleet Management experience.
    • He must have a Stores / Material Management or related qualification
    • Age is not an issue, but NB - This is a VERY busy department and needs someone with lots of energy and speed and efficiency - so should not be too old and tired - but should not be too young and immature.

    · Liaise with Reinsurers on all reinsurance matters including issues on premiums and claims
    · Work with the operations team to ensure the company has strong risk management processes and procedures that safe-guard the interests of the company and its customers.
    · Train and Develop staff in areas of risk management, data analysis and reporting.
    · Manage all underwriting, claims adjudication and administration functions.
    Assist the Senior Management team in the development of appropriate strategies that promote the company’s operations, competitiveness
    · and growth and ensure implementation of the same in areas of responsibility.
    · Assist in marketing and sales efforts to ensure revenue targets are met and exceeded.
    To advice and support team leaders on complex reinsurance, underwriting and claims issues to ensure overall profitability and optimal performance.

    • Marketing and information about role of PASS at meeting with potential clients, and various relevant forums
    • Identification of demand for assistance and support form target groups in accessing finance from banks. This will cover individuals, groups or SMEs in primary and secondary agriculture including agro processing
    • Design and establishment of feasible models for activities at smallholder farmer levels, including diversification of crops, out-grower schemes, improvement of production practices, vertical integration interventions etc
    • Making pre-evaluations of proposals presented for support, and assisting entrepreneurs in improving their proposals into Business Plans of acceptable standards
    • On the basis of the plans, assist clients in obtaining credit facilities form collaborating Banks e.g. CRDB, Exam, FBME, ABC, NMB, TIB etc
    • Identification and preparation of solutions for bottlenecks in agriculture performance e.g. low productivity, inadequate market access, processing, appropriate mechanization etc
    • Liaise with relevant key local authorities so as to identify and promote investments in agriculture and agro business in a respective zone.
    • This will include Chamber of commerce, or other similar stake holder groupings, agricultural authorities, traders, processor associations etc
    • Monitoring performance of clients to ensure adherence to agreed business plans to enable the meet projected financial obligations and avoid defaulting risks
    • Regular reporting to the management on your performance as per agreed procedures
    • Coordinate and oversee performance of PASS activities in specified zonal offices. Ensure that cost are controlled and revenues are optimized so that the branch is financially sustainable
    Requirements:
    • A degree in Agricultural sciences in Crops and/or Animal production
    • Additional post graduate qualification in business administration or similar field would be advantageous
    • Ability to identify and formulate programs for development of farmers in value chain system
    • At least 2 years experience in preparation of feasibility studies or business plans for investment decisions
