Your arguement is based on the fact that possibly there is a small  element of reasoning in CCM's Dr. Nos. That defeats it. I think CDM is  addressing us who are affected by the unreasonable Dr. Nos. Tundu lissu  arguement resonate with reasonable minds not CCM.
 
By the way I hope you share with me the ascertion that CCM MPs have  ganged against the whole purpose of a vibrant parliament. They will  never support other MPs' motion so long as it is not from CCM.

In the just concluded House deliberations on judicial reforms one MP stood apart from the rest in terms of vigorous and unrelenting input to reform the judiciary but he had very little success in swaying the "DR. Nos" in CCM-MPs......................that MP remains in the eyes of parliamentary watchers being the only one........................TUNDU LISSU.........................

TUNDU LISSU's legal positions were loaded with intellectual arguments hovering around empowering the judiciary to acquire her constitutional onus that the executive had encroached with impunity...................... from financial squeeze to being called upon to answer to D.Cs and R.Cs.......surely the judiciary is under siege from executive manipulations and overt control..........you would expect most CCM MPs to agree with TUNDU LISSU that the time has come for the judiciary to police herself rather than continuing being in the clutches of political mandarins....................CCM MPs had none of those ennobling aspirations.......CCM's glory is in waving anti-reform credentials............they anchored the executive to continue calling shots in the judiciary ridiculing the whole intent being touted as a reason the judicial reforms were initiated in the first place....................from funding constraints which have nothing to do with actual needs of the judiciary to the appointment of judiciary commission the presidential monarchy will continue piling the judiciary with presidential minions deferring indefinitely the real meaningful reforms dearly needed in the judiciary................................the backlog cases now suffocating our judicial system among other handicaps are unlikely being resolved by this Bill the House has just passed let alone constitutional yet adversarial relationships between the judiciary and the executive this legislative initiative aspires to foster and promote................................

A.G was uninspiring when he justified the preservation of the status quo on outdated arguments that time is not ripe enough for the judiciary to walk without an intrusive interference from the executive.....................because if that argument holds any water then the BIG question ought to be then why the hullabaloo of this new legislative reforms.....if at the end of it all, the status quo ante is gonna prevail under the guises of a new judicial commission whose recommendations are at peril of presidential tantrums???????????????????

But to cut the narratives short, TUNDU LISSU intellectual potentiality is hard done by his own human frailties.........................for instance when Hon. Sitta made his constitutional contribution - however, irrelevant it was- was there a real need for TUNDU to castigate Sitta as being..........."dead wrong"?

Is TUNDU not burning all political bridges which one day he may need to cross to attain his elaborate political goals.......which include overseeing Chadema crossing the watershed of capturing power..........................Was Speaker Anne Makinda not being only too humane............when she upended the will of parliamentarians who in their majority crowed "Yeah" in support of TUNDU's proposal that D.Cs should not sit as chair and arbiter in judicial officers' disciplinary matters................Was Anne not really responding to human nature that GOD bestowed in all of us to hate "the proud" whom TUNDU LISSU blithely represent today.......................

TUNDU LISSU may sought a scapegoat and solace in CCM's "DR. First I must admit that I do not know and have never met Hon. Tundu Lissu personally, but from observing him on televisions, his endowment and professional grasp of his trade is better than most of his compatriots' in the august house. He is truly a public intellectual because he devotes himself to unveiling what ills this country with passion.

Hon. Lissu joined activism and politics, thus becoming a public figure, to make matters worse he decided to be principled which might be poisonous in politics where opportunism is the order of the day, marriage of conveniences common. A number of intemperate comments are expected to be part of his entourages and itinerary. H decided to enter the politics, so vitriolic attacks on what he stands for, his approach and style (combative!) will always be controversial. I am sure he needs a thick skin otherwise he would not have survived this long and reached where he is. I have a feeling the man he is what we see.

My problem is with the all too common accusation of intellectual arrogance being hurtled at people like him and most of his likes who defend or promote certain virtues or advance and forcefully fight for what we should rightly be given by our leaders. The reasoning, goes like this: how dare you, Lissu claim that so many people are wrong and you and a small number of other egg-headed amd misguided lot are right? Who are you to declare the truth?

Actually the intellectual arrogance, in the utmost degree, is being displayed by those who dismiss out of hand the considerate opinion from Lissu only because they cherish a particular ideology that has no independent foundation in reality. Arrogance, according to my dictionary, is "having an exaggerated sense of one's own importance or abilities," and it seems to me to fit perfectly someone who has no technical background in a given field and yet pontificates endlessly about what is True and what is not.

Our national discourse has gotten so bad that demagogues can get away with throwing any amount of mud at their opponents while claiming to have their hands as clean as snow, just like people who have no knowledge or understanding of the matters at hand can gingerly accuse serious professionals of being intellectually arrogant -- and feel very much self-righteous about it too.

It is time to reverse the tide and take a stand. I have no problem with the advise that we all need a good dose of humility, and that one way to get it is to admit that the universe is not about you, and that some people out there really know more than you do, as unpleasant a thought as this may be.
