How Tanzania will become an upper middle income economy by 2025 double kenya's economy
Proper leadership and focus on economic development by the United Republic Tanzania is proving unstoppable under the leadership of president John Pombe Magufuli. He has employed socialist methods of development which trains his subjects to working for a common goal of developing their country.
This method has been successfully used by China to become the world's largest economy beating the likes of America in economic growth. Similarly, Tanzania has managed to trains her citizens focus on development through president Magufuli's philosophy of, "tuchape kazi", which translates to lets keep working. Indeed the sleeping African economic giant has woken up and has taken the bull by its horns.
For the past five years of President Magufuli's leadership, Tanzania has managed to ascend to the rank of middle income country ahead of all the East African community member states. Putting physical infrastructure of roads, railway, airport and sea ports in place is all that he has maximized in his first term in office as the president of the republic and this will provide a great platform for economic development projects in his second term.
Tanzania enjoys massive water resources availability both sea and fresh water lakes and rivers. More than 50 percent of the continent's largest fresh water lakeies in Tanzania's territory and this can be used for irrigation purposes on their expansive land that makes the country the 13th largest territory in Africa.
Tanzania has massive amounts of natural resources which are now protected by the state, from natural gas in southern region, to the tanzanite mineral and the long coastline plus the water and marine fish amongst other sea resources of the republic gives the country a big boost for expansion unlike her East African peers who have very little coastline as is the case for kenya while others have none.
Having a socially stable country with a knit society, security is a sure thing for the country minimizing the ethnic wrangling like is the norm for kenya. This gives room for the government of Tanzania to focus on economic development while her neighbors struggle with building bridges initiatives to unite their divided people.
Breaking the chains of runaway corruption amomgst the untouchable rich is perhaps the most important thing that President Magufuli has done in his first term in office. This will maximize development and economic growth in the next years as most of the resources will minimize their engagement in corrupt dealings. However, runaway corruption is the biggest problem for her East African neighbors like Kenya hence economic growth is only but theoretical.
With most investments in the country being state owned and afew owned by multinationals, the country is sure of collecting revenue at the right time and as a result, the gross domestic product of the country will grow at tremendous levels. This is the biggest undoing for her neighbors like Kenya where most of the companies are owned by foreigners who prefer banking their profits in their countries of origin and sometimes escaping tax payments.
