Tanzania Govt has bought a house for the attache' in New York for $1.3 mil

Steve Dii, modern morality and manners suppress all natural instincts, keep people ignorant of the facts of nature and make them fighting drunk bogey tales, ndio akina zomba hao.

Mlitaka tuendelee kupanga?

Bulunga... sijui kwanini nashindwa kuamini Maajar would do that!!

Probably ti started long ago

- MwanaHALISi, Jumatano, Agosti 17-23, 2011

Orly Hollander of
Laffey Fine Homes can now add the United Republic of Tanzania to her list of buyers. She was the listing agent on a Great Neck center hall Colonial that recently sold to the Tanzanian mission for $1.26 million, according to the Long Island Real Estate Report.

How different was the experience for Hollander? She needed the U.S. Department of State to OK it. "This is the first deal I ever did where I needed the government's approval," Hollander says. She adds the home is for the family of an attaché with four children.

The home has five bedrooms, four bathrooms and an open floor plan. The master bedroom has a bath with a Jacuzzi and shower. A two-car garage is attached. The deal closed at the end of June, according to public records.

The State Department statement indicated that requiring government approval is standard practice and in accordance with the Foreign Missions Act. Any foreign mission is required to obtain the U.S. Secretary of State's approval before any acquisition, sale or disposition of real estate is completed.

The statement says there is usually no impact to a community from the presence of a diplomatic residence, and, yes, the State Department has turned down applications in the past.

By the way, the Tanzanian government will be coughing up $22,093.66 a year for property taxes (or almost 36 million Tanzanian shillings).

This is another 'death penalty' to the lives of so many poor Tanzanians who have been tormented by the on-going poor leadership, corruption, power-cuts, fuel costs, selling off our unique Giraffes, and the rest of our games are yet to be mentioned....and yet by recalling of our poor visioned and myopic president - no spat of word, of course...!

By the way, who else shall stand in front for the sake of future of our poor families, children and pregnant women who are dying on the roads before securing their 1st aid treatment - other than the existing patriotic elites and your politicians we have? Such a wastage of public funds to acquire an offshore mansion is just never justifiable at any means...just another corruption as the one engulfed Mahalu's Italian saga!

We never know....the same president was in the US just a week ago...! May be we can hear from him confirming on the justification of the same deal!

God bless our mental and spiritual vision to save our nation from these 'flying whales' who are impassionate to the future of our generation.

Such a wastage of public funds to acquire an offshore mansion is no way unfortunate, but a 'normal fashion' by our poor leaders. This is through our Gods hand, is just never justifiable at any means...just another corruption as referred to the one engulfed our former Italian's envoy - The Mahalu's saga!

We never know....the same president who escaped from the cries of power cuts and fuel strikes by fuel-sellers 2weeks ago, was in the the same US just like that...! May be we can hear from him confirming on the justification or at least denying of the existence of the same deal!

God bless our mental and spiritual vision to save our nation from these 'flying whales' who are impassionate to the future of our generation.

So kigezo ni miaka tu .
 • Serikali si hinunui magari used .

Most of time ni utashi wa mtu

BTN

..ninavyoelewa mimi diplomats hawalipi tax.

I know for a fact diplomats don't pay taxes sasa tax ya hiyo nyumba ina toka wapi tena?

Funguka mnasamehesamehe kodi mwisho wake mnaishia kulia njaa.

1) Vitu fulani fulani ndio nini?

Yaani we umeona wakulima wote ni walevi sio? Agha! Bora niache kubishana na mj...

Sio mnabweteka tu kutaka Serikali iwafanyie kila kitu. Achaneni na kuwa omba omba. Jee, nyinyi mnaifanyia nini Serikali?

Serikali inwakopesha pembejeo, inawakopesha matrekta, inawatengenezea barabara za lami muweze kusafirisha mazao kiurahisi, inawawekea wataalam wa kilimo kila wilaya, bado tu mnaiona haifanyi kitu? ama kweli, asofadhila hafadhiliki.

THE Tanzanian government has purchased a luxury residential house in New York for use by one of the senior diplomats at the country's Permanent Mission to the United Nations.

According to latest media reports from the United States, the Tanzanian government purchased the property on 27 June, this year, at a cost of $1.26 million (more than 2 billion shillings).

The one-storey property has five bedrooms, four bathrooms, a fireplace, parking space for two cars and many other amenities.

The Tanzanian government had to get a permit from the US State Department for the acquisition.

The residential house located on 216 Shoreward Drive in Great Neck, NY 11021, also boasts a huge master bedroom with a jacuzzi and shower.

The Tanzanian mission in NY will have to pay the US government some $22,093.66 (approx. 35m/-) a year in property taxes for the house.
