Russia has imposed a ban on the export of diesel and gasoline to all western countries, with the exception of only few countries like Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.
This decision occurs before the beginning of the dark days of winter season therefore it is not random chosen.
Huge pressure and living costs will rise in most of European countries. Like the previous winter, in which $600 billion was lost due to expensive energy of which mostly ended up in Russia's account. This year will be even worse.

How serious is Russia's fuel export ban and who will be hit?
Russia said exports would resume once it had stabilised its domestic market.
