Position Summary
Futures Group is recruiting a Research Coordinator for a new evaluation study of the scale-up of gender-based violence interventions in Tanzania.


Key Responsibilities
• Serves as manager of the Tanzania-based evaluation study data team and reports to the U.S.-based Project Director; provides technical guidance to the data team, which is situated within a local research institution.
• Manages day-to-day evaluation study protocol operations of data collection, data entry, data management, and data quality assurance.
• Liaises with the international and local principal investigators, coordinating their technical direction and inputs with regard to study operations.
• Contributes to the development of the evaluation study protocol monitors and ensures that the study is conducted according to protocol.
• Contributes to data analysis and dissemination of findings.
• Provides analytical and evaluative techniques to identify, consider, and resolve issues or problems.
• Leads and organizes project trainings, workshops, and meetings.
• Participates, and represents the organization as needed, in outside project-related meetings and workshops.
• Participates in and/or prepares necessary technical and program-related reports, including presentations and manuscripts for scientific publication.


Qualifications
• Advanced degree in public health, such as epidemiology, biostatistics, or related field.
• 8+ years of experience in public health research involving larger-scale data collection.
• Experience implementing facility- and community-based field research in sub-Saharan Africa required; experience with GBV and HIV and other health programs preferred.
• Demonstrated project management and operations skills including team building and team management.
• Strong interpersonal, writing, presentation and organizational skills.
• Demonstrated problem solving, analytic, financial, and evaluative skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to effectively and efficiently perform multiple tasks and balance competing priorities often within a required timeframe.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Kiswahili.
• Familiarity with the political, social, economic, and cultural context of working in Tanzania.

Preference will be given to local nationals.
