GVEP International is looking for qualified candidates to fill the positions of Regional Business
Mentors in its Developing Energy Enterprises Project (DEEP) East Africa. The project aims to
increase access to energy among the rural and peri-urban population by assisting energy entrepreneurs
grow their businesses through business and energy technology training, mentorship and coaching and
linkage to
Regional Business Mentors (4 Positions in Kenya; Uganda & Tanzania)
Roles and Responsibilities
1. Recruitment of Micro-dealers and supporting them in last-mile marketing of their energy
products/ services.
2. Supporting the BDS coordinators in business training and providing weekly reports to the BDS
coordinators.
3. Mentoring entrepreneurs: identifying their needs, supporting in business planning and providing
practical solutions to entrepreneurs issues
4. Provide support to coordinators in group networking sessions
5. M&E data collection
6. Follow-up on entrepreneurs who have received loans
Qualifications
· A minimum of a good diploma in marketing or business management
· A minimum of 3 years experience in products marketing in rural settings
· Applicants must be willing to provide services in rural areas
· Record of working with minimal supervision
· Good communication and writing skills
· Ability to manage and prioritize numerous tasks simultaneously
· Willingness and licence to use a motorbike
