The vision of President Samia Suluhu Hassan, is the construction of a new Tanzania which is characterised by a digital government, a digital economy and a digital society.

In pursuit of this vision, the girls-only-school, Zanaki Secondary School, of Dar es Salaam, has joined the journey to implement a program for bridging gender digital divide after acquiring key ICT equipment.

Donors have provided the school with 30 computers, keyboards, 30 monitors, 30 UPS's, one printer, one scanner, one projector, and three servers.

The gadgets were handed over to the school's principal, Delvine Koka, last Friday, on 01 September 2023, with the funding of the ICT for All NGO based in Tanzania, which provided 10 computers, in collaboration with The Trade Desk Foundation of the United States, which provided 20 computers. The ICT for All NGO is sponsored by Power Computers Tanzania Limited (PCTL).

Speaking during the handover ceremony, the Headmistress of Zanaki School, Delvine Koka, thanked the donors for the charity and promised to use them well for the benefit of the school.

"These gadgets will be a great catalyst in facilitating the teaching of computer subjects and the implementation of other activities that require the use of IT devices. We say thank you very much to The Trade Desk and ICT for All for this great support of equipment," said Koka.

The handover of the IT equipment was witnessed by Pilly Ngarambe, who was the guest of honour, on behalf of the Education Officer of the Dar es Salaam Municipality.

Ngarambe congratulated the donors for their efforts to voluntarily contribute to the implementation of the sixth phase government's plans, under the President
Samia Soluhu Hassan.

"This matter is great because it supports the efforts of President Samia Suluhu Hassan in promoting the use of ICT in all schools," emphasized Ngarambe.

The Executive Secretary of ICT for All, Aveline Malamsha, said that in addition to the provision of the ICT equipment to Zanaki, they have already done so in three other schools, and will continue to do so in other schools in Tanzania.

The Chief Executive Officer of the PCTL, Shakil Dharamsi, the company that sponsors the NGO called ICT for All, speaking at the event spoke about the importance of IT in this era.

"In this age, the lack of knowledge and skill in using information technology is a challenge that should deprive us of sleep, because this challenge deprives many of jobs, and those who are employed fail to produce productively because of the lack of skills in this technology," explained Dharamsi.
