Summary: Sybrin Systems provides highly specialised Information Management Systems, particularly in the banking sector, and has offices in South Africa, Kenya, Zambia, Zimbabwe and most recently Tanzania (Dar es Salaam). Sybrin has Barclays Bank and BancABC as current customers in Tanzania, with the strong expectation of many more clients coming on board this year, and hopefully one of them being the Bank of Tanzania for the planned move to Cheque Truncation in Tanzania. At present, all support is done by our resources from our South African office, but we need on the ground technical representation to resolve issues/bug fixes, new development (predominantly C# coding), install new software versions, implement new modules/functionality, conduct training, etc.
Model to be implemented
Sybrin Systems would now like all first line support of both Software and Hardware to be carried out by a local Tanzania resource based on the ground there. Second line support for both software and hardware will be done from South Africa.

Qualifications
Must have studied outside of Tanzania
BSc IT
Minimum Requirements
Must be a Tanzanian Citizen
Must have 6 months 2 years working experience in the below:
- C#
- VB6
- VB.NET
- SQL
Employment Contract
Initially 1 year contract, with strong possibility of being permanent after that.
Spoken Languages
Must have very good command of the English language (read, write, speak, understand)
Must have very good command of the Swahili language (read, write, speak, understand)
Databases
Must have at least 2 years experience with SQL2005 or above
Understand how to backup and restore databases
Should be proficient with writing complex SQL Queries using multiple joins / advanced syntax, and creating Views, creating Table Indexes, understanding Normalisation
Should be proficient with SQL Profiler
Should be proficient with creating new tables and modifying existing tables
Should be proficient with primary keys and all other types of table constraints
Programming Languages
At least 2 years intermediate level experience with developing in either VB6, C# or VB.Net Hardware knowledge
Some experience and an aptitude for understanding hardware and being prepared to be trained up in this field is a requirement.
Extensive hardware experience, particularly on transports (the devices used to capture cheques), would be a major advantage
General
Need to be contactable 24 / 7 to provide effective support to client
Must have their own transport to get to client site as quickly as possible
Must have a valid passport so that they can be trained up in South Africa on the workings of Sybrin and the specifics of any system implemented in Tanzania
