Meanwhile, Dr Muzamil Kalokola, an activist associated with a society devoted to preserving the ideologies of founding president Mwalimu Nyerere, says he will file a case against striking doctors with the ICC.

Speaking in Tanga yesterday, he charged that the strike contravened Article 14 of the Constitution, which stressed that every Tanzanian had a right to live and get protection from the society for his or her life.

Dr Kalokola argued that doctors were a critical feature of a medical system that the government had established for enabling Tanzanians to get protection against, and cure from diseases.By striking, he theorized further, the medics were deliberately refusing to discharge their duty of providing a constitutional right to the people of Tanzania.
"In essence, they are killers just like any other such people who are involved in crimes against humanity in other places and who are referred to the ICC in Switzerland," Dr Kalokola remarked furiously.
