Position: Manager- Public Sector Consulting
Duty Station: Tanzania with a focus on the entire East Africa region, traveling within and beyond the region is anticipated

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Oversee Proposal Development and Expression of interest through careful analysis of the client’s terms of reference (ToRs) and Request for Proposals (RfPs).

▪ Development of Concept Papers for pitching professional work.

▪ Actively participate in pitching and preparing final proposals for Directors review.

▪ Undertake project planning and development of work plans for assignments.

▪ Spotting fall-on work and cross-selling of other service lines.

▪ Take part in business development and maintain client relationships.

▪ Prepare the project economics schedule and ensure updates are continuously done.

▪ Ensure timely billings and collection are done as per the required timelines in liaison with finance department.

▪ Manage Sub-contractors through proper documentations

▪ Provide strategic advice and guidance to public sector clients, leveraging industry knowledge and best practices to address complex challenges.

▪ Grow and mentor the Senior Associates and Associates and give clear feedback to aid personal and professional growth.

Skills and Attributes:
  • Experience in public sector consulting, with an understanding of industry dynamics, market trends, and regulatory frameworks in East Africa.
  • Proven track record in client relationship management, with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent project and team management skills ensuring timely and exceptional quality delivery;
  • Excellent strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues and develop innovative solutions.
  • In-depth knowledge of key public sector players and governance across the East African region.
  • Strong business development skills, with the ability to identify and pursue new opportunities.
  • Excellent presentation and negotiation skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders.
Qualifications/Experience and Minimum Requirements:
  • BA/BS/BSc (or equivalent) in a relevant field;
  • Master’s degree / professional qualifications is an added advantage;
  • 7 years + post-qualification experience in a reputable consulting firm with 2 years + in a managerial position;
  • Demonstrated leadership in managing people and complex projects;
  • Proven track record within public sector consulting and advisory across East Africa;
  • Proven experience in collaborating with high caliber teams, with a strong focus on achieving exceptional results;
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
