Another high ranking government official has been banned from stepping on US soil.

US Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs Johnnie Carson said three other officials could also have their visas revoked for opposing reforms in the country.

While announcing the travel ban, Carson said the US government is closely monitoring the pace of implementation of reforms and will not hesitate to take stern action against government officials it deems are frustrating the process.

The visiting US envoy said the US will pile pressure on the government until it implements reforms contained in Agenda four.

US Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs Johnnie Carson said three other officials could also have their visas revoked for opposing reforms in the country.

"We are considering similar action with three other government officials," said Carson.

"We will not do business as usual with those who do not support reforms ... those who support violence," he said.

Without revealing names, he described the politician as a "senior government official of influence".

He said the individual had "obstructed the reform process, failed to end the cycle of impunity and has been an obstacle in the fight against corruption".

Last month Mr Carson sent a letter to 15 officials warning them they faced travel bans if they failed to support the "reform agenda".

This latest development may well provoke another diplomatic spat between Nairobi and Washington.

Last month Kenya protested to the US over the latter's audacity to author letters to senior government officials urging them to support the reform process or face serious

Carson however commended parliamentarians for the rejection of the reappointment of former KACC director Aaron Ringera as well as the recent reforms in the police department terming it as a head start.

He further advised Kenyans to make their desires clear to the country's leadership and thus can hold them accountable in the fu

Carson's visit comes ahead of ICC'S Luis Moreno-Ocampo's visit next month.

Kwenye hili sakata la visa William Rutto atapona kweli, maana nasikia jamaa mbishi hana mfano.

Shida ya Wamarekani, kama ukichukua fedha ukapeleka kwao hakuna shida, ukipeleka nchi nyingine watakupiga X.

Walifikiri kwasababu Obama ni Mkenya basi Kenya itakuwa State ya America, lol.

There are speculations that our Attorney general, Amos Wako is the one who has been slapped with the ban, dude is an anti reformist, very conservative, and has been on that position since I was born. his contribution to the current state of our country is major, we need an overhaul in our system, and the Americans have decided to give as a push to get rid of the big fish in our public offices. these people bag (not pocket) millions of taxpayers money per month for sitting in their big offices and making life tough for ordinary Kenyans by frustrating the drafting of a new constitution and preventing the full implementation of Agenda 4.

Kama wamaanisha wakenya basi you are underestimating our intelligence, we aint dumb,.Obama is hard on us because he simply cares for his ancestral home period, dont be naive, there are alot of extremely corrupt nations in Africa where America is conducting its business as normal, no travell bans and all that ish, no threats, but try that in kenya, obama will slap a visa ban on ya azz.

Very funny..Lol

I agree with your contention that the U.S. government has double standards when it comes to punishing corrupt regimes in Africa; just for a moment look at the magninitude of grand corruption in Tanzania, Kikwete's henchmen completely wiped the central bank and no body threatened the culprits with any visa bans!! We have had Richmond, Radar, Meremeta and many other scams but the U.S. and E.U. governments have not acted the way they do in Kenya. Tanzanians would appreciate if the known corrupt big wigs in Tanzania were stopped from accessing their loot by being denied visas to the U.S. and Europe.

I think Tz is better off, the corruption seen in our public offices is sickening, we have IDPs lounging in tents while a rich public officer diverts 50 Million reserved for the IDPs to his pockets, thats greed beyond measure. Toa kitukidogo is entrenched into every sector that provides service to the public, you cant get arrested in Kenya if you have money, we flout all the traffic rules coz we know once stopped by the traffic cop, i'll only part with two hundred bob then am easy, its that bad.

You cant get a job if you dont have a Godfather, some of us are self employed, and we have good education which can help the country but they will pay you peanuts if there is no one to push for your welfare, so we prefer to employ ourselves so that we can afford the life we want to live. Its crazy out here, its every man for himself and God for us all, corruption will kill us, its the cancer that's finishing Africa.

Does any one of us has names of these officials? or an idea, who are these officials?

Bongo kumeoza mpaka mtu unaogopa kuhusu what is gonna happen tomorrow or day after tomorrow, future has become a dim light to many of Tanzanians because of corruptions and theft and embazzlement & extravagancy etc. lakni Kenya ndo wanaonekana. nina utata na hili, some one should put this clear, what is the war behind those walls.
