Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho has today launched two public body spray sanitisers at the Likoni Crossing channel to aid in the fight against covid-19.
While being flanked by former Mombasa Gubernatorial aspirant Suleiman Shabhal Joho said that the two booths are on a pilot stage, as they continue to monitor the situation at the crossing point.
''Our main plan is to install similar booths on both ends of the ferry so that before you enter, into the ferry everyone will be sanitised.''

The governor also added that he has plans in place together with donors to have thermal sensors installed at the Likoni Ferry crossing point.
''The county government felt that it was necessary to install a heat reading at the ferry channel and yesterday we saw very many residents present with more than 40 degrees in body temperature.''
The governor has once again illustrated that leaders can work if they want to. Last week on 1st April, Joho received 10 ventilators as a donation from his friends locally and abroad to compliment 8 ventilators that the county government had already got for the people of Mombasa County.

The county is set to get 12 more ventilators from investors withing the county.
The governor has been on the frontline assisting his people since the first case of Covid-19 was announced in the county.
On 4th Aril, the Joho Foundation in conjunction with the Suleiman foundation launched a drive to feed needy residents within the Coastal County.
Shabhal during the launch said he saw a similar technology in Turkey and briefed the governor about it, agreeing to have it installed as soon as possible.
As other counties flirt dangerously with disaster due to an inadequate number of ICU beds, Mombasa County at 36 beds, bested only by Nairobi County that has a total of 247 ICU beds and Uasin Gishu County at 55 beds. Some counties such as Homabay have zero ICU beds within their hospitals.
The governor went on to call on his residents to support the government as it works to contain the virus, saying that the government can not do everything.
