The BBC's Aleem Maqbool reports from Malala's school in Pakistan, where he says students have been left "traumatised"

A 14-year-old Pakistani girl shot in the head by Taliban gunmen has been transferred to a new military hospital with better facilities.

Malala Yousafzai, in critical condition two days after being attacked in the north-western Swat Valley, arrived by helicopter in Rawalpindi from Peshawar.
The Taliban, who accuse the young activist of "promoting secularism", have said they will target her again.

There have been widespread protests in Pakistan against the shooting.

Malala Yousafzai was being treated in an intensive care unit in Peshawar before doctors decided to move her to the Armed Forces Institute of Cardiology critical care unit in Rawalpindi.

One of the medical team treating her said "neurologically she has significantly improved" but that the "coming days... are very critical".

Another doctor, Mumtaz Khan, told AFP news agency that she had a 70% chance of survival.

"Her condition is not yet out of danger despite improvement," Masood Kausar, the governor of the north-western Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, was also quoted as saying.

'Barbaric mindset'Pakistani officials have offered a 10m rupee ($105,000; £66,000) reward for information leading to the arrest of the attackers.

"On 3 January 2009 Yousafzai posted her first anonymous entry to the BBC Urdu blog that would later make her famous. She used the pseudonym "Gul Makai" so as not to be targeted by the Taliban. The idea for the blog was that of her father, Ziauddin Yousafzai, who ran a local private school and would go on to become a major influence in his daughter's activism. The blog captures Yousafzai's troubled psychological state during the First Battle of Swat, as the Taliban forced closures of private schools and banned girls’ education. ...
On 19 December 2011 - Pakistan’s National Peace Prize - Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani awarded Yousafzai with Pakistan's first National Peace Prize for those under 18 years old"

Talibans are coward afraid even of a tiny and young girl like Malala. Anyway, this is the good proof that Talibans are gawks who use islam to justify their stupidity.

"We had no intentions to kill her but were forced when she would not stop (speaking against us)," said Sirajuddin Ahmad, a spokesman of Swat Taliban now based in Afghanistan's Kunar province.
He said the Taliban held a meeting a few months ago at which they unanimously agreed to kill her. The task was then given to military commanders to carry out.
The militia has a force of around 100 men specialized in targeted killing, fighters said. They chose two men, aged between 20-30, who were locals from Swat Valley.
The gunmen had proved their worth in previous assassinations, killing an opposition politician and attacking a leading hotelier for "obscenity" in promoting tourism.
Their trademark is to kill by shots to the head. Such hits, although dangerous, are also a badge of honour among the Taliban. The fighters who carry them out often receive personal calls of congratulations from senior leaders and may also get cash or guns."
