Ashden, the sustainable energy organization, is calling for applications for the 2013 Ashden Awards. They are looking for initiatives that are improving and increasing access of renewable energy to the poor, transforming lives and reducing carbon emissions in developing countries. Since 2001, the Awards have highlighted innovative energy initiatives across the world, and have nurtured more than 140 sustainable energy enterprises helping them take their work to the next level. Ashden is looking for initiatives that are:- Increasing energy access for homes or businesses. Improving health and education outcomes through sustainable energy. Providing innovative financial mechanisms for sustainable energy products and services. Developing products that provide renewable energy for lighting, cooking, etc. Using renewable energy or energy efficiency for agricultural purposes.
