After the GVT pays Dowans Ngeleja, PS and Werema must resign

Well, the government has agreed to pay Dowans because they figured out they don't have anyother choice - which is not true because they had a choice - not entering the Richmond Contract in the first place and secondly not agreeing to the ICC mediation which was doomed to fail in the first place.

Now, I agree with them we have to pay Dowans because of their incompetence and inability to defend the national interests. It is because of their doing the taxpayers of Tanzania are forced to pay Dowans all this sum of money. But, that can not happen without consequences. There had to be consequences and the trio must bare the full blunt force of those consequences.

Chadema and other opposition parties and other civil society leaders must call for resignation of these three people for once they agreed to pay this one of the dumbest contract then they set themselves up for accountability. Like Nyerere said during the "Tanganyika Motion" in mid 90s, a leader can not make a decision and not be ready to pay the price for that decision.

I fail to understand why they should resign. This liability resulted from the Tanesco decision to refuse DOWANS to take their equipment after termination of the contract. When this was done, Attorney General was not Mr Werema hence he is not among the individuals who led our poor country to this liability.

However, I would agree with you that William Ngeleja who was the then Minister for Energy is part of the decision which led to this loss.
