Health and Social Welfare ministry is set to handover the new paediatric complex block build by the government at a cost of 7.7bn/- to the Muhimbili National Hospital (MNH) administration next month.

Health and Social Welfare ministry permanent secretary Blandina Nyoni said in an interview yesterday in Dar es Salaam that the contractor undertaking the construction works was doing final touches.

Nyoni said the government had already set aside funds, whose amount however could not be immediately known, for the fixing of all necessary equipment and appliances in the block.

“We are just waiting to receive the building from the contractor so that we can start fixing the equipment and appliances,” said Nyoni.

The PS said the block, designed to accommodate more than 200 patients at a ago, would be of great help to the national hospital.

She said the government had decided to finance construction of the block due to the fact that the MNH was unable to do so despite the fact that it received much more patients’ everyday.

For his part, the MNH Public Relations Officer Amaniel Aligaesha said the block was being built under the supervision of experts from the Dar es Salaam-based Ardhi University.

He said although the building was not officially handedover to the government, part of it was already under use due to pressure that the hospital was facing. The completion of the block and subsequent handover would help decongest the hospital, he said.

    Hivi priorities zetu zikoje?

Tutafika kweli?

    duh, kweli bongo kali

Its not about priorities, its about ignorance in priorities kwa hawa leaders
