This is another disaster!

An airliner with 150 people on board belonging to Yemeni state carrier Yemenia crashed in the Indian Ocean archipelago of Comoros Tuesday, a senior government official said.

"We don't know if there are any survivors among the 150 people on the plane," Comoros vice-president Idi Nadhoim told Reuters from the airport at the main island's capital Moroni.

Nadhoim said the accident happened in the early hours of Tuesday, but could not give any more details.

"There is a crash, there is a crash in the sea," said an unnamed official who answered the phone in the Yemenia office in Moroni. He declined further comment.

An airline official in Yemen declined to comment.

Yemenia, which is 51 percent owned by the Yemeni government and 49 percent owned by the Saudi Arabian government, flies to Moroni, according to flight schedules on its Web site.

1996 CRASH
Yemenia's fleet includes two Airbus 330-200s, four Airbus 310-300s and four Boeing 737-800s, according to the site.

The location of the crash was not immediately known, but a medical worker in the town of Mitsamiouli, on the main island Grande Comore, said he had been called into the local hospital.

"They have just called me to come to the hospital. They said a plane had crashed," he told Reuters.

A Comoran police source said the plane was believed to have come down in the sea. "We really have no sea rescue capabilities," he said.

The Comoros covers three small volcanic islands, Grande Comore, Anjouan and Moheli, in the Mozambique channel, 300 km (190 miles) northwest of Madagascar and a similar distance east of the African mainland.

I think we have a right to be worried with AIRBUS planes, i am also worried whether the flight data recorder will be found just like it is with AF447. INashangaza kuona mambo haya yanatokea kwa karibukaribu!

A Yemeni airliner with about 150 people on board has crashed in the Indian Ocean near the Comoros archipelago.

"We don't know if there are any survivors," Comoros vice-president Idi Nadhoim told Reuters news agency.

The Airbus 310 was operated by the Yemeni state carrier Yemenia Air. The details of the flight are not known.

However reports say there was a flight from Sanaa, the capital of Yemen, due about 0230 (0030 BST). That flight was a connecting flight from Paris. The three islands of Comoros are about 300km (190 miles) northwest of Madagascar in the Mozambique channel.

The exact location of the crash was not immediately known

But a civil aviation official told the BBC that the plane was probably a few kilometres from the capital, Moroni, when it crashed. Weather conditions had not been good for several days, he added.

A resident near the airport told the BBC about 100 people were trying to get into the airport to find out more information, but without much success.

In 1996, a hijacked Ethiopian airliner came down in the same area; most of the 175 passengers and crew were killed.

On 1 June an Air France Airbus 330 travelling from Rio de Janeiro to Paris plunged into the Atlantic, killing all 228 people on board. The cause of that crash has not been identified.

Indume Yene,

News report zinasema ilikua Airbus 310.

Ni vyema hizi Airbus ziangaliwe upya ni lazima kutakuwa kuna tatizo la kiufundi kwenye ndege hizo.Baada ya ile ajali kubwa ya Rio De Janeiro,kuna ndege nyingine mbili ambazo zilifanya emergency landing kutokana na matatizo ama ya moshi au moto katika ndege hizo, CEO wa kampuni ya Airbus, Mr.Tom Enders anadai kwamba ndege zake ni salama na amesisitizia kuwa Airbus A-330 ni salama na nzuri zaidi kwa sababu hamna rekodi yoyote kuhusiana na matatizo ya ndege hiyo;

June'13/2009.

Airbus wapo mbioni kuunda ndege nyingine kubwa Superjet A-380.

A Yemeni airliner with 153 people on board has crashed in the Indian Ocean near the Comoros archipelago.

Some bodies have been recovered, a Yemeni aviation official said, and wreckage of the plane located. It is not clear whether there were survivors.

The Airbus 310 flight IY626, operated by Yemeni carrier Yemenia Air, was flying from the Yemeni capital Sanaa.

It is not clear what caused the crash but officials say there was bad weather in the area at the time.

Reports say the plane was due in the Comoros capital Moroni at about 0230 (0030 BST). Most of the passengers had travelled to Sanaa from Paris or Marseille on a different aircraft.

The flight on to Moroni was also thought to have made a stop in Djibouti.

There were 147 passengers and 11 Yemeni crew on board.

An airport source told AFP news agency that 66 of the passengers were French, although many are thought to have dual French-Comoran citizenship.

This is the second air tragedy this month involving large numbers of French citizens.

On 1 June an Air France Airbus 330 travelling from Rio de Janeiro to Paris plunged into the Atlantic, killing all 228 people on board.

'Aborted landing'

A search is under way, with the French military assisting with the operation.

Officials told AFP that wreckage from the plane, an oil slick and bodies had been spotted in the water a few kilometres from Moroni, on the island of Njazidja (Grande Comore).

"The weather conditions were rough; strong wind and high seas," Yemenia official Mohammad al-Sumairi told Reuters news agency.

The BBC's Will Ross, in Kenya, says that given the fact the crash happened during the night and in the sea, the chances of finding any survivors are slim.

The three Comoros islands are about 300km (190 miles) northwest of Madagascar in the Mozambique channel.

There were unconfirmed reports that it had attempted to land but aborted the landing. It was not seen again.

A resident near the airport told the BBC about 100 people were trying to get into the airport to find out more information, but without much success.

Please be prepared for it

MOST OF THE TIME UTAMBIWA KOSA NI LA MAREHEMU (HUMAN FACTORS) YAANI USAHAULIFU, NEGLIGENCE, USINGIZI, JET LUG NK. ILI KULINDA HESHIMA YA KAMPUNI NA NDEGE HUSIKA. Fine tusubiri black boxes zipatikane la sivyo kosa la marehemu

pole kwa walioondokewa

Kweli matatizo ya kuanguka kwa ndege 7 out of 10 tunasema ni human error lakini kwanini iwe Airbus ndege nne kwa kipindi kifupi? Uzoefu pia unachangia kuepusha ajali

Tusubiri black box
