Nimemsikiliza mama Ngozi naona anakuwa apologetic of cosmetic success. To me, if you may ask, the honest person among these people above who is really addressing our plight as a continent, is Dambisa. Why do I say that? for more than Fifty years Africa has been fighting same problems and challenges. Ngozi want us to believe that the arrest of one Governor was a gamer changer so to speak on corruption/governance front. But what she fails to tell us is why should the biggest corporations like WB and IMF (under her watch) should continue dishing out cash to corruption stricken countries like Tanzania, Kenya nk? The answer is, WB is a business entity, not interested in a poor man`s plight.

I agree with Dambisa. Without Africans taking charge of their destiny, we wil always be content with largesses of the rich from the western world.

Juzi nilikuwa nasome report moja ya influential economist huko Europe, out of 8 billion dollars ambazo western countries wame pump in Afghanistan, 90% of the money went back to the West. Such sobering statistics can be replicated in Africa. What do I think we should do? First we should recognize that, international relations is premised on national interests and not on genuine friendship. We just need to invest in accountability of our system and leaders.

Bila kuhakikisha akina Chenge, Lowassa na Azziz wanakwenda Segerea na kufilisiwa mali zao, bila kuhakikisha kwamba wale tunaowapigia kura wanawajibika kwa waliowachagua, bila kuhakikisha wasomi wanaopiga kelele kila siku wakiwa kwenye confort zones huko Europe na kwingineko wanatake active role ya kushirikiana na wananchi wa kawaida kujikomboa (ambao hawakusoma), we are in for a long night.

Its so sad, lakini ukweli ni kwamba Africa tumeshindwa kujitawala.

Tumekuwa na mitazamo ya hovyo sana kwamba hatuwezi kufanya lolote bila kwenda kuomba misaada ya watu kutoka nje. Dawa ya matatizo yetu haiko Ulaya. Ni sisi kuamua tunataka nini. Far East na China ni mifano inayojitosheleza ya nini tunaweza kupata kama tukiamua kujituma kutafuta maendeleo.
