Kwanza kabisa, mitihani si kipimo cha ubora wa elimu. Huwa ninashangazwa sana na idadi ya mitihani ya taifa, licha ya mitihani ya shule, anayofanya mwanafunzi. (darasa la 4 na la 7, Kidato cha 2, 4 na 6). Halafu kurahisisha mitihani ili mwanafunzi afaulu hakumsaidii mwanafunzi wala taifa, zaidi ya kudanganyana tu. Waulizeni wakufunzi wa vyuo vikuu na elimu ya juu, hasa wale walioanza kufundisha miaka ya 80-90, wanavyopata shida na quality ya wanafunzi wanaowapata sasa.

Ikija kwenye elimu, lazima mitaala iakisi dira na sera ya maendeleo ya taifa ya miaka 30-50 ijayo. Lazima kuwekeza kwenye elimu na ujuzi (skills and not experience) hasa shule za awali, na vyuo vikuu na vyuo vya ufundi. Hivyo basi, inatakiwa kuwa, kadiri mtu anavyoelimika (hapa sizungumzii kuingia darasani tu), ndivyo anavyofunguka kiakili na kiutashi. Kwa maana hiyo, kumshawishi mtu aliyesoma hesabu kuwa 1 + 1 siyo 2, unahitaji ushawishi wa ajabu. Lakini kama mtu hajasoma hesabu, ni rahisi kumwambia 1 + 1 ni 3 na akakubali kwakuwa hana sababu ya kukubishia.
