Mara nyingi tunawaambia humu kwamba sisi Wakenya tunakipenda Kiswahili, ndio lugha yetu ya taifa inayotambulika kikatiba, tunakitumia mitaani na kote kote, sema ni ile hatuna ubumbumbu wa kujifungia kwenye lugha moja.
Tunatumia Kiswahili, Kingereza na lugha zetu za asili. Leo Kiswahili kinazagaa dunia na kupata umaarufu kwa ajili ya jitihada za Wakenya, tunakitangaza na kukipigia debe lakini pamoja na hayo tunaonyesha umahiri mkubwa kwa kumudu lugha zingine.
Utafiti wa sayansi ulishabaini kwamba ujanja wa kuongea lugha zaidi ya moja hupanua hata uwezo wa kutumia ubongo na kufikiria.
Afrika Kusini wamesaini makubaliano na Kenya ya kuanza kufundisha Kiswahili kwenye mtaala wao, hapo tayari maelfu ya Wakenya watahitajika kwenda kukifunza, ikumbukwe kule Uchina na Japani Wakenya ndio wanafunza Kiswahili kwenye vyuo vyao.
Waziri wa elimu wa Afrika Kusini yupo Kenya na amehudhuria utiaji saini wa hayo makubaliano.

South Africa will teach Kiswahili in her Educational System after signing an agreement with Kenya
This precedes yesterday’s meeting in which Cabinet Secretary of Education Prof George Magoha and South African Minister for Basic Education Angelina Matsie Motshekga signed a Memorandum of Understanding for the respective countries.
The Signing of the MOU paves way for the introduction of Kiswahili teaching in South Africa, which will add to the bulk of many languages taught in the country.
Speaking at his office in Jogoo House, Nairobi, after signing the MOU; Prof Magoha lauded the development as a step forward to strengthen collaboration between the two countries.
Motshekga on the other hand said that 40 per cent of learners in South Africa are currently are either learning or speaking Kiswahili. This, she said would be beneficial to developing country’s educational system.

South Africa will be adopting teaching of Kiswahili in her Educational System after signing an agreement with Kenya.
