Wakati tukikaribia kuitangazia dunia, What is Tanzania: The Royal Tour?

WHAT IS TANZANIA: THE ROYAL TOUR?

It is a much-anticipated television program recorded in Tanzania between August 2021 and early September 2021, which is scheduled to be officially launched in April 2022, starting with the U.S. market in New York (April 18) and Los Angeles (April 21).

The U.S. market debut, which targets primary and secondary market sources (USA, UK, Germany, Italy, France and Spain, Netherland, Canada and Australia respectively) will be followed by two other similar launch events in Dar es Salaam (April 28) and Zanzibar (May 7). From there, Tanzania: The Royal Tour will be screened worldwide in a bid to showcase and promote Tanzania's world-class tourist attractions, which include some of Africa's most famous national parks like the Serengeti and other natural wonders, such as the majestic Mount Kilimanjaro and the beautiful spice islands of Zanzibar.

A sneak preview of the TV program seen in widely circulated teaser video clips and trailers, shows the Head-of-State, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, President of the United Republic of Tanzania; Her Excellency Samia Suluhu Hassan, playing a starring role as the main tour guide.

Clad in a safari outfit and hijab, the energetic tour-guide-in-chief takes the audience on an epic journey to see some of Tanzania's uniquely rich natural tourist destinations, renowned to be among the finest in the world.

President Samia takes viewers on an once-in-a-lifetime adventure deep inside the country to offer them rare access to extraordinary locations, historic landmarks and cultural experiences both in mainland Tanzania and Zanzibar.

By playing a starring role in the Tanzania: The Royal Tour President Samia has joined the club of several heads-of-state, who have envisaged to boost their respective countries' tourism industries by taking part in this series of ground-breaking television specials hosted by acclaimed American journalist Peter Greenberg.

The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) recognizes this beautiful country with seven world heritage sites namely; Serengeti National Park, Ngorongoro Conservation Area, Kilimanjaro National Park, Ruins of Kilwa and Songo Mnara, Kondoa Rock-art Site, Selous Game Reserves and Stone Town of Zanzibar.

Through the gripping one-hour program, President Samia takes an exceptional opportunity to guide viewers all over the world to see the amazing destinations that Tanzania has to offer. These are packaged in three categories – natural, cultural and man-made resources. They range from national parks, game reserves, game controlled areas, the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, which is widely billed as the cradle of humanity, forest reserves, nature reserves, coastal forests, government forest plantations, bee reserves, cultural heritage sites, museums, Ramsar sites, wildlife, natural beaches, marine parks and many more.

In addition to being a wildlife sanctuary, Ngorongoro is also home to the Olduvai Gorge, which is one of the world’s most important archaeological sites where important discoveries of the earliest human beings can be traced.

Apart from the Serengeti National Park (home of spectacular animals migration), Ngorongoro (an acclaimed 8th wonder of the world), Mount Kilimanjaro and Zanzibar, other natural attractions include Mikumi, Ruaha National Park and the Selous Game Reserve in the south of the country.

There is also the Kitulo National Park in the country’s southern highlands. Because of its unique and rare natural botanic marvel, hosting one of the great floral spectacles of the world, Kitulo plateau has always been raised by locals as ‘The Garden of Eden’, whilst the botanist fraternity dub it the ‘Serengeti of Flowers’.

Tanzania is also a popular beach tourism destination, with vast stretches of Indian Ocean coastline offering visitors white sandy beaches, sun and excellent deep-sea fishing at Mafia and Pemba Islands, as well as Amani, Magamba, Chome and Kalambo river nature reserves and falls. The Indian Ocean islands are also home to the remains of ancient settlements, including those of Kilwa, Bagamoyo and Stone Town.

Tanzania also offers enchanting cultural and arts heritage, which includes, Sukuma, Maasai culture and arts as well as Makonde sculptures and carvings.

Reaching the summit of Kilimanjaro, the roof of Africa and the highest free-standing mountain in the world, is on the bucket list of many people around the world, including most recently the American rapper, songwriter, and entrepreneur, William Leonard Roberts II, popularly known as Rick Ross.

President Samia, in the television program, not only guides the viewer to the country’s tangible tourism attractions, but she is also showcasing Tanzanians’ qualities of warmth, friendship, openness, generous hospitality and a wealth of their intangible cultural legacies.

MORE THAN JUST TOURISM

Tanzania: The Royal Tour television program is part of an ambitious plan by the Tanzanian government to increase the number of tourist arrivals from around 1.5 million per year to 5 million as outlined in the country's five-year development plan, which is also a blueprint of the ruling party’s, Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM), election manifesto, 2020 – 2025.

The country's tourism sector is capable of enhancing job creation, raising the sector’s potential of increasing employment opportunities to an estimated 1.8 million to 2 million jobs from the current 1.3 million to 1.5 million. Tourism would thus raise its contribution to the country’s gross domestic product from the current 17% to 25% over the next few years.

But, the world premiere of the TV programme will also help to showcase Tanzania beyond tourism by highlighting its agricultural, energy and mining sectors (it is the world’s only source of tanzanite gemstone).

In the year 2020, the Tanzania National Parks Authority (TANAPA) was declared the gold medal winner, amongst 51 winners from 39 countries in the world for the International Standard Service Award. Moreover, in the same year five Tanzania National Parks namely (Kilimanjaro, Serengeti, Mkomazi, Manyara and Arusha) received the International Service Quality Awards while Msembe, at Ruaha National Park emerged the most beautiful airstrips in Africa.

It was once argued somewhere that if there was one country that epitomizes Africa's natural beauty and tourism opportunities, then look no farther than Tanzania.

With President Samia as our eloquent guide, Tanzania: The Royal Tour will help sell Tanzania as a global success story and indeed, bringing back on the stage, Tanzania, the land of Zanzibar, Kilimanjaro and Serengeti.

Tunasonga.

Huyo aliyekuquote amedhani ww bado ni mpinzani, hajajua umekuwa MATAGA siku hizi.

Halafu Makene nani anamfahamu mama Samia mpaka aende akatangaze utalii huko US?
