- A man in Russia's far east has died of exposure after a relative locked him outside in sub-zero temperatures in revenge for chatting up his girlfriend.
Prosecutors in Birobidzhan, 3,750 miles east of Moscow, said a criminal case had been opened on charges of death caused by negligence, which carries a maximum three year sentence.
The victim had gone to visit a relative who "came out of the shower and caught the man red-handed courting his girlfriend and, in a fit of jealousy, stripped off [the suitor's] clothes and pushed him onto the balcony."
The man, who was drunk and could not call for help, froze to death as temperatures fell to -20C (-4F).
