Ninatumia program inaitwa Sandy na ni free service na ina-track appointments, tasks na meetings zako wakati wowote unaotaka.

Inafanya kazi kama electronic assistant * just send off an email regarding an upcoming task or meeting, and Sandy will send back an email reminder when it's due.

Huduma hii inatumia simple English commands kama ‘remind me to go to the dentist at 4.00 this afternoon' na pia inaweza kutumika ku-track to-do lists, birthdays, meetings * in fact, any important event.

Sandy pia inatumia tags (vitu kama ‘bills', ‘homework' or ‘rehearsals') hivyo kuleta urahisi wa kupata tasks and appointments ambazo zinahusiana.

To sign up for the I Want Sandy service (hereafter, known as Sandy), launch your web browser, type - http://www.iwantsandy.com into the Address or Location bar at the top and press Enter. When the website opens, find the ‘Sign Up' flash in the top right-hand corner and click on it. All that's required is a valid email address and password, so type the details into the empty form, then click the Sign Up button. After a moment, Sandy will display the activation message.

It's a free service that acts as an electronic assistant. Just send off an email regarding an upcoming task or meeting, and Sandy will send back an email reminder when it's due.

If you are not in the office but you intend to use your laptop or PDA or any smart phone, you can install and use it.

If you are not online you can set the programs such as appointments or reminders and they will be installed automatically and later used whilst you are offline.

The general idea is that, this program is the same as MS Office Outlook or Outlook Express and it works the same as these two by connecting to incoming (POP3-Post Office Protocol 3) email server eg hotmail or accross the internet through SMTP-Simple Mail Transfer Protocol eg Yahoo.

So it helps in both online and offline environments.

If it helps offline why would you need it online?

I just don't wanna sign up with anybody if I don't have to.

Offline is the condition of being capable of but currently not connected to a network of computers or other devices. The term is frequently used to describe someone who has the ability to be connected to the Internet but who is not currently connected to it.

For example, a cold backup, also called an offline backup, is a database backup when the database is offline and thus not accessible for updating. This is the safest way to back up because it avoids the risk of copying data that may be in the process of being updated. However, a cold backup involves downtime because users cannot use the database while it is being backed up.

So, you can write your emails offline and when connected into network you will be online and doing business as usual and emails will sent or received provided you have done your setup.
