was so terrible.

Ravaged Nigerian Village Haunted by Horror
By ADAM NOSSITER

DOGO NA HAWA, Nigeria - Nightmare images haunt this dusty sun-baked village, fresh memories of tall young men emerging from darkness to slash the unarmed with long knives in a frenzy of ethnic and religious hatred.
It was a particularly brutal sectarian massacre in a region that has seen thousands die in the last decade in clashes between Muslims and Christians, and Tuesday, a day after hundreds were buried in mass graves here, groups of villagers in this Christian farming community a few miles south of the central Nigeria metropolis of Jos sat mutely among their mud-brick homes remembering Sunday's horror.
Some of the small houses had been burned in the attack; tin roofs were caved in and twisted, facades were charred, and carbonized hulks of vehicles littered the dirt streets. Traces of blood were evident in the sandy soil.
Official and human-rights group estimates of the number of dead have ranged from 300 to over 500 in the attack here and two nearby villages, Zot and Ratsat.
The people here spoke of a well-organized gang of dozens stealthily surrounding the village before dawn. They had come on foot from the low hills surrounding this rocky plateau, Muslim herdsmen apparently bent on revenge for similar killings in January and angry over what one rights group said were cases of cattle rustling.
They crept around the stand of tall cactus that screens the village of some 2,000. Gunmen fired rounds of shots in the air, to panic the residents and flush them from their homes. "I heard a powerful gunshot, then sporadic shots from all angles," recalled Isaac Pam, a civil servant who lives here. "The village had been surrounded. And the firing was coming closer."
A separate corps - the men with machetes or "cutlasses" as some villagers described them - began their work. "I saw them with very long white swords," Mr. Pam said. "Some were dressed in black, and some in camouflage." The men were ruthlessly efficient, and in halting sentences the villagers described the carnage that followed.
"They killed my daughter and my son," said Ezekiel Chwang. "It was Sunday night. They surrounded our house. They were shouting." He climbed into a tree to escape the marauders, and dropped back down after they had left, to find a horrific scene in his home. The men, he said, had discovered his 6-year-old daughter and 4-year-old son sleeping in the bedroom. They slit their necks with a machete, then set them on fire.
Though Sunday's attack appeared unusually vicious, human rights experts on this region said it was all too reminiscent of previous episodes, including the killing of Muslims by Christians in January. "There many similiarites as far as the targeting of unarmed residents, including women and children," said Eric Gutschuss of Human Rights Watch.
Residents here emphasized the extensive use of machetes in Sunday's attack. "They killed seven people in my family," said Bitrus Dimrang, including his mother and stepmother. "I heard the women crying," he said. "They were cutting them."
A young woman, Elizabeth Joseph, heard her stepmother's unavailing plea for mercy. "They were cutting my stepmother," Ms. Joseph said. "She kneeled down. She was begging them not to hurt her. It was very terrible." Another young man said: "I saw people with the knives. They were just slashing them."
Perhaps 3,000 have died in these ethnic-religious conflicts in the region surrounding this village since 2001, in the estimates of rights groups. There have been investigations and commissions of inquiry, but little retribution. The police here, known for their summary methods, say they have already arrested around 100 in connection with Sunday's killings.
Tuesday, well-armed soldiers in camouflage guarded the entrance to the village here. In Jos there is a dusk-to-dawn curfew, with few venturing out after dark.
The National Assembly member for the district, visiting from the capital, Abuja, said she was shocked by by the violence. "We're talking about Rwanda and other faraway places, and here, it's happened here," said Martha Bodunrin. "It's just such a mystery."
Anger simmered here Tuesday. Some spoke in terms of a bitter religious conflict that was not about to disappear soon.
"Plateau state is dominated by Christians," said Isaac Pam, the civil servant. "From time immemorial there has been an Islamic struggle to overthrow it."

Ndiyo, soma hapa chini.

Quran 48:29: "Those who follow Muhammad are merciless for the unbelievers but kind to each other."

Quran 60:4: We have renounced you; and enmity and hatred is begun between us and you for ever, until ye believe in Allah alone

25:52 So obey not the unbelievers and fight strenuously with them in many a strenuous fight.

Quran 4:91 "Take them and kill them wherever ye find them. Against such We have given you clear warrant."

Quran 33:35-36 "Allah repulsed the disbelievers. ... He brought those of the People of the Scripture who supported them down from their strongholds, and cast panic into their hearts. Some ye slew, and ye made captive some.

OMG! Are you kidding me?!!

bado nawashangaa Waafrika wenzangu.

Mimi huwa naamini kuwa 'a bad person is a bad believer and a good person is a good believer'.

Mungu, Mungu yupi huyo ?

kweli Mungu alie hai anapiganiwa ? baado nashangaa.
