Tanzania pull off shock Olympic triumph over Cameroon

Tanzania's U-23 side pulled off a major shock in the 2012 Olympic qualifiers with a 4-3 penalty shoot-out win over 2000 gold medallists Cameroon.

The home side won the first round, second leg game 2-1 in Dar-es-Salam on Saturday.

With the game finishing 3-3 on aggregate after extra time, the home side relied on the spot-kicks to edge through.

But it was Cameroon who raced into the lead on 11 minutes thanks to a strike by Essengue Parfait to give them a 3-1 aggregate advantage.

But Tanzania responded with goals from Kigi Makas and Thomas Ulimwengu to send the match into penalties.

Patrick Abouna, and Mouangue Otele missed two penalties for Cameroon with Tanzania's Innocent Wambura fluffing his spot-kick.

Juma Abdul was the hero as he fired the final kick to send the fans in Dar-es-Salam into raptures
