Ukweli kodi za Tanzania ni mgogoro. Mfanyabiashara anapolipa kodi kubwa kwa vyovyote vile anapandisha bidhaa bei ili ifidie gharama zake. Mwishoni bei za vitu zinakuwa juu na hivyo biashara inashindikana kama ambavyo sasa hawa Truworths wanafunga maduka. Hii sio mara ya kwanza kusikia wafanyabiashara wakilalamika kuwa mazingira ya biashara Tanzania sio mazuri.

Tukumbuke mtu akifunga duka madhara hayaishii kwake peke yake, kuna wafanyakazi wanaopoteza ajira, familia za hawa wanaopoteza kazi nazo zinapata madhara. Kwa kifupi ukifanya mahesabu utakuwa madhara yake ni mengi mengi mengi sana. Huwezi kuondoa umaskini kama hakuna mkakati wa kusaidia watu waliojiari.

Takaingia duka la pili lile la jeans za Levi Straus, ndio hili la hawa jamaa, kabinti kakapenda jeans, kuuliza bei naambiwa TZS 138,000, binti anang'ang'ania kuwa etiu ni fashion ya sasa iliyotoka na mama yao akasupport, Kaka yake na dada yake ambao ni ma teenager, wakashauri "Dada kama ....anaitaka jeans hiyo, nipe 50,000 tuu nikamnunulie mahali!. Kusema ukweli tulitoka bila kununua chochote humo ndani!.

Maadam wale wawili wadogo wameshapata nguo, wale wawili wakubwa wakaomba wapewe pesa wao na waende na wadogo za "mahali" wakawanunulie nguo. Niliwapa, japo concern ya mama yao, wasije wakatinga Kariokoo kutuzolea mchina, my boy akasema no, mchina tunamjua, wee leta pesa tunakuja na nguo za ukweli!. Kilichofua walirudi na nguo za ukweli za level ile ile ya maduka makubwa!. Ndipo wakasema kuna viduka tuu mitaa vinaleta nguo za ukweli na bei ni poa!. Kama ni hivyo, nani aende Mlimani city akachinjwe?. Acha wajiondokee tuu nao walikuwa wanatukamua sana!.
